Former Court Clerk Indicted on Embezzlement Charges

Natalie Brooke WardNatalie Brooke Ward, a former deputy Chancery Clerk in Jones County, MIssissippi, has been indicted on two counts of embezzlement by a public employee and alteration of record, following an investigation into the missing funds from the Jones County Land Redemption account.

Ward was employed in the Chancery Clerk’s Office from August 2002 to February 2008, when she resigned as deputy Chancery Clerk.

The State Auditor will demand Ward repay $218,000 missing from the Land Redemption Account, plus over $57,000 in interest and almost $33,000 in investigative costs incurred by the State Auditor’s Office.
