Ashurst Asks Partners to Leave and Closes India Office

British law firm Ashurst has more asked partners to leave, according to reports published on Friday. Most of these partners will be leaving by the end of April. Over the past year almost 30 partners have left the firm. Ashurst will also close a liaison office in New Delhi, India. The closing of the New Delhi office comes on the heels of a new ruling by India’s highest courts banning foreign law firms from practicing in the country.

Founded in 1822, Ashurst is an international law firm with practices focusing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and structured finance, investment funds, antitrust, energy, intellectual property and several other areas. The firm has approximately 800 attorneys and 15 offices globally.
