District Judge Issues Gag Order At SAP’s Request

Lawyers for SAP AG, a German software company, have requested that a federal judge issue a gag order during a forthcoming trial for an intellectual property theft case.

SAP AG is being sued by Oracle for malpractice and unfair competition. Specifically, Oracle has accused SAP of acquiring unauthorized access to their customer service website. Oracle then charges that SAP of copied its software and other confidential materials.

SAP has admitted to copyright infringement and the upcoming trial, which is set for November will determine the amount SAP will pay in damages.
