Even if Maryland does not allow same-sex marriages, it has upheld the practice in other States, by allowing them privilege from testifying against the spouse in a criminal domestic violence case. Deborah Snowden threatened the life of Sha’rron Snowden with a knife and is charged with reckless endangerment but the latter refused to testify against Deborah invoking spousal privilege. This lesbian couple was married in Washingtom DC, reports from the Jurist.
