Idaho Woman Challenges State’s ‘Fetal Pain’ Anti-Abortion Law

Jennie Linn McCormack, a mother of three children from Idaho, is challenging the legality of the newly enacted anti-abortion law that makes it a felony to terminate a pregnancy after 20 weeks.  McCormack herself had an abortion in December in her 20th week of pregnancy and was put on trial for it. But she could not be prosecuted because the new statute had not been passed. She is now filing suit to make sure that no other woman is prosecuted under the state’s 1972 law against abortion and the new “fetal pain” anti-abortion statute.
