Florida has become the second state in the country after Arkansas to ban saggy pants in schools. State Senator Gary Siplin even went to several schools to hand out belts to the students wearing saggy pants. Students who disobey the new rule will have to face punishments that are typical of school dress code violations. Schools will have the option to issue 3 days of in-school suspension and 30 days of extracurricular suspension. But the ACLU and NAACP have protested the new law, saying that it unfairly targets minority students.
