An Illinois man was charged with first-degree murder in the killing of his mother. Robert Lyons, 39, brutally stabbed his 61 year old mother, Linda Bolek, to death in their apartment in Carol Stream. The incident occurred after Bolek refused to call a friend to arrange for Avril Lavigne tickets. Due to the incredibly violent nature of the crime, the jury found Lyons guilty of premeditated murder in the first-degree.
