Country and Gospel singer Randy Travis has apologized for his public drunkenness following his arrest on early Monday morning.

The 52-year old singer, who lives in Tioga, Texas, was apparently celebrating the Super Bowl and after a night of revelry was found drunk in a parked car outside a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas. Travis had an open bottle of wine with him and was in a fight with his girlfriend when a police officer approached him. Travis was cited with misdemeanor charge and was jailed for a few hours.

Travis is not only a Grammy winner but has also won 7 Dove awards. The Dove awards are given out by the Gospel Music Association for outstanding achievements in the Christian music industry.
