Fetuses Found in British Resident’s Luggage

Chow Hok Kuen, a 28-year-old British citizen, has been arrested in Thailand after police discovered six fetal corpses in his luggage on Friday. The fetuses ranged in age from two to seven months old and had been roasted. Some of the fetuses were covered in golf leaf. The police who made the arrest were tipped off anonymously that a black magic services website was selling fetuses on it. The fetuses were found in a box packed in Kuen’s luggage.

The roasting and gold leafing of fetuses is part of a black magic ritual known is Thai as Kuman thong, or ‘golden child.’ It is thought that good fortune will be bestowed upon the owner of the fetus. It is believed that Chow was going to smuggle the fetuses to Taiwan, his native country, where one of them could sell for close to $200,000 Thai baht, which converts to $6,376 USD.

Chow could be facing a year in prison if convicted on charges of hiding and covering dead bodies. The authorities investigating the case do not know where the fetuses came from, but the bodies are having forensic tests performed on them. The arrest was confirmed by the British Foreign Office, which will offer consular assistance in the case if it is necessary.
