Chris Wallace, a host on Fox News, ripped into the contention by the National Rifle Association that President Barack Obama and others practice hypocrisy because they employ security guards to protect their children, according to Think Progress. The reason for this is that they then try to downplay the idea of armed protection in the steps to prevent gun violence.
The incident took place on Sunday with NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre. On the show, Wallace aired a clip of an ad from the NRA that criticizes Obama for using Secret Service members to protect his children. Wallace asked LaPierre if all the children in the country face threats similar to those that face the Obama children. LaPierre’s answer was that they do, which caused Wallace to explode, saying, “that’s ridiculous and you know it, Sir!”

Wallace did say that having armed guards in schools will not keep children safe “in the shopping mall, in the movie theater, on the street.” Wallace even said that LaPierre also relies on armed guards to protect himself and asked him, “Does that make you an elite, and out-of-touch elite, because you have security? This idea of an elite class is just nonsense.”
