Scandalized Police Union Law Firm Dissolves

0

Lackie, Dammeier, McGill & Ethir, a law firm known for its bulldog aggressive representation of police and their unions will dissolve after facing scandals and lawsuits. The firm has been accused of harassing city council members for supposed political gain.

According to the LA Times after the scandals hit the law firm that represented the police union, the firm has taken the steps to dissolve. The firm has also faced recent accusations of billing fraud. Ultimately the different situations have seemed to spin out of control. A private detective working for the firm had followed a city councilman, and alerted the police that the man seemed to be driving drunk. That same man later passed a sobriety test, and showed that he had only drank 2 diet cokes that evening. He kept his receipts. Importantly, the councilman who was followed was an outspoken critic of the city’s police union.

Though one managing partner noted that the lawsuits delivered to the firm were politically motivated, there also has been a “mass exodus” of attorneys, who are currently fleeing the infamous firm before their own reputations get tarnished. The tarnished law firm, Lackie, Dammeier, McGill & Ethir has not responded to phone calls or commented on their situation. The Daily Journal reports that more than half of the attorneys working there are forming their own partnerships or are otherwise leaving the situation.
