The changes include new global co-chairs Roger Meltzer, a U.S. corporate partner; U.K. partner Nigel Knowles. Meltzer is the co-chair for the Americas for DLA Piper. Knowles is the managing partner of DLA Piper’s international business.

“It’s the institutional evolution of the firm,” Meltzer said. “As we continue to strive toward greater integration.”

The co-chairs right now are Tony Angel, who joined the firm in 2011, and Lee Miller.

Angel joined DLA Piper to “drive some management and institutional change,” Meltzer said while also helping recruit new talent. He said this helped DLA Piper “move the brand upstream in a very difficult market.”

The two co-chairs leaving their posts will move into “important advisory roles,” according to the firm. It was not made clear if the co-chairs will be partners or not.

The firm also announced that it has two new global CEOs. They are Cameron Rains, who is a co-chair for the Americas, and Simon Levine. Levine is the co-managing director of groups and services for DLA Piper’s international business.
