Judge Rules Videos Depicting Justin Bieber’s Genitalia Cannot be Shown in Court

On Tuesday, a ruling was issued by a judge in Florida that said two of five video clips showing Justin Bieber at a Miami Beach police station back in January would not be shown in court, according to The New York Daily News.

Two of the five videos show Bieber’s genitalia while taking a urine test. The judge ruled that the videos must be edited to protect the privacy of the singer.

“Mr. Bieber’s right to privacy is paramount,” Miami-Dade County Judge William Altfield said in court. “He has not lost his right to privacy, and that is what is important here.”

Bieber was fighting the release of the videos, saying that they show him in “various states of undress” with his “intimate personal parts” exposed.

Bieber argued that the public’s right to know was outweighed by his right to privacy. Media outlets have previously asked for all police video of Bieber in custody and received some 10 hours of footage using the Florida open records laws.

All of this stems from Bieber’s arrest on January 23 for DUI after reportedly drag racing on a residential road in Miami Beach. Bieber was charged with the DUI, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest.
The urine sample Bieber provided was positive for Alprazolam and marijuana, according to police.
