Joshua James Corbett was arrested at the Los Angeles home of actress Sandra Bullock on Sunday morning, but more information became available late this week, according to CNN.

Corbett was inside Bullock’s home for at least an hour prior to police being called. Corbett also owned an illegal machine gun, but he did not have it with him in Bullock’s home, according to a prosecutor.

Corbett hails from Montrose, California and was charged with felony counts of stalking, residential burglary and possession of a machine gun. Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall announced the charges.

Corbett pleaded not guilty during his court appearance on Tuesday and bond was set by a judge at $185,000.

Corbett scaled a chain-link fence on Bullock’s property that had barbed wire at the top in order to enter her home. Bullock was home when Corbett broke into the house, but it is unclear if her young son was present.

Officers from the LAPD said they were not called to the home until 6:30 a.m., which means Corbett was inside the house while Bullock slept for at least an hour, as it was discovered he entered around 5 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found Corbett outside of Bullock’s house but on her property. The prosecutor did not say how they discovered he had an illegal machine gun, but he “was not in possession of the machine gun at the time of the break-in.”
If Corbett is convicted he faces a maximum of seven years and four months in prison.
