The law firm of Barnes & Thornburg LLP has announced via a press release that Darren VanPuymbrouck has joined the firm as a partner in the Chicago office. He will work in the Litigation Department. He has experience with commercial litigation, class action, toxic tort and complex product liability matters. He joins the firm from Schiff Hardin LLP where he worked as a partner.

VanPuymbrouck will be a member of the firm’s national Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He has more than 25 years’ experience trying lawsuits in state and federal courts across the country.

VanPuymbrouck is the co-chair of the Complex Torts Committee for the American Bar Association’s Committee on Corporate Counsel.

William M. McErlean is the chair of the law firm’s Litigation Department. McErlean said the following in the release: “We’re extremely pleased that someone of Darren’s national experience and stature has chosen to join our Litigation Department. His extensive experience handling significant trials in state and federal courts will be of great value to the firm and our clients and bolsters the significant depth of our trial bench.”
