Summary: Demi Moore and her family were all away from the home when a party occurred at their home, resulting in the drowning of a man in their pool.
Edenilson Steven Valle, 21, drowned in the pool of Demi Moore’s Beverly Hills home while she was in Europe with family. The death has shocked Moore and left her devastated for his family and friends. Even though she was not home, as the homeowner, she may be held responsible.
The Los Angeles County coroner said that Valle was removed from the deep end of the pool after 10-15 minutes of being in the water. He was pronounced dead at 5:30 am on Sunday. Family reports that he did not know how to swim.
The party at the home was held by Moore’s assistant. Employers are liable for the acts of their employees so even though she was not at the location, she could very likely be accountable for not providing adequate pool safety, especially when there was a party involving alcohol. It is her responsibility to ensure guests at her home are safe from the dangers of a pool.
No foul play is suspected in Valle’s death. Law enforcement officials concluded that he slipped and fell into the pool.
