Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Lance Mason pleaded guilty to felonious assault and domestic abuse. The incident that led to the charges happened when he was driving down Van Aken Blvd with his family. He punched his wife several times in the face, pushed her face into the dashboard, bit her cheek twice, and then choked her with his arm. He then kicked her out of the car and drove off with their kids still in the car. She then was able to call 911 and seek treatment for a broken left orbital bone.

Visiting judge Patricia Cosgrove will sentence Mason on September 16. He has been free on bond but is not allowed to have any contact with his wife and can only have supervised visits with their children.

Aisha Mason has since filed for divorce but that case is still pending. She has also filed a lawsuit against him for the mental pain and anguish he caused her. Mason was disqualified from the bench but is still receiving his salary of $121,000. Another visiting judge is taking over his cases.
