Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. is one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management. They have expanded into the Pacific Northwest hub of Seattle, Washington to greatly strengthen their capabilities. The new office will collaborate with the nearby Portland, Oregon office where many of the lawyers are also licensed in Washington to practice law.

The office will be opened by Tony Byergo, co-founder of the Kansas City office in 2005 and Sarah Evans, who has been with Ogletree Deakins since 2012. Ogletree Deakins has over 750 attorneys in 48 offices across the United States, Mexico, and Europe.
Byergo has been the chair of the firm’s collective bargaining practice subgroup with over 25 years of experience representing and advising management in labor and employment matters. He is recognized as an authority in the matters of traditional labor relations and union avoidance. He earned his J.D. from Northwestern University Law School.
Evans will be focusing her work on employment litigation and preventative counseling. She has routinely served employers for issues of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, as well as investigations for health and safety violations and arbitrations of unfair labor practices. She earned her J.D. from the University of California – Los Angeles School of Law.
