Paula Holland and a corporate team have joined Cooley in London. The three new members are from WilmerHale. Cooley has been working towards expanding their London practice.
Holland will be joining as a partner in the business department and will be a member of the compensation and benefits practice, working with a focus on helping clients in the VC and startup communities. The two other members coming with Holland are associates Tamsin Crane and Ciaran Rooney.
The three-member team has a lively international and UK business with a strong focus on tech and life science companies. They are also experienced with equity incentive matters, private and public M&A, VC financings, IPOs out of London and New York, and private equity deals. They are skilled with remuneration strategies that cover both sides of the globe with the ability to counsel companies in the UK and U.S. on tax, labor, and securities laws aspects of international equity arrangements.
Holland is the fifth lateral hire for the London office of Cooley this year when the office was established. The office has over 50 lawyers. Previous hires include Natasha Kaye and Stephen Rosen from Olswang, John Wilkinson and Nicola Maguire from Reed Smith, and a team from Mintz Levin.
