The school has 217 first-year law students, 8 advanced standing juris doctorates, 11 master of law students, 26 master of sports law and business students, and 54 master of legal studies students focusing of patent practice, sustainability law, and international law.

The community has also been supporting the student scholarships with up to $45 million totaled so far. The law school has nationally recognized international law, health law, legal writing, and dispute resolution programs drawing more numbers. The law school also built a state-of-the-art facility in downtown Phoenix, the Arizona Center for Law and Society, which is expected to open next fall.

The incoming students come from five countries, 30 states, and 86 undergraduate universities. Minority students make up 24 percent of the entering juris doctorate class, putting the school among the national leaders in having a diverse pool of applicants.

The new students are already giving back to the community through organizations like AmeriCorps, the Special Olympics, Greenpeace, Habitat for Humanity, and more. Around 100 students already participated in the annual ASU Law Community Service Project before orientation even happened.

ASU Law is ranked number 14 in the nation and number 5 for public law schools in placing graduates in substantial legal jobs. The school has an 87 percent employment rate for the 2014 graduating class.
