Chadbourne & Parke recently established a “next-generation vehicle” practice group that will deal with cars, transportation and alternative technologies that falls outside the traditional gasoline driven model. Chadbourne partner Kenneth Hansen believes that while other firms have focused on emerging technology and “green” technology he didn’t know of any devoted specifically to next-generation vehicles. The focus will primarily be on electric cars.
The practice brings together a dozen attorneys with expertise in raising capital, obtaining government loans, intellectual property and taxation. The group will be a “one stop shop” for clients in the alternative vehicle industry and will include manufacturers, suppliers, government agencies and lenders. The practice will be led by project finance partner Chaim Wachsberger and former New York Governor George Pataki.
