President Obama announced two nominations for U.S. attorney yesterday. Bismarck, North Dakota attorney Tim Purdon has been nominated as North Dakota’s next U.S. attorney. Purdon is a native of Oakes, North Dakota. He spent his formative years in Minnesota and attended Hamline Law School in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is an attorney in the Bismarck office of the Vogel Law firm. Purdon was also one of North Dakota’s representatives on the Democratic National Committee. Purdon will replace acting U.S. attorney Lynn Jordheim.

Obama also nominated David Fein of Old Greenwich to be the U.S. attorney of Connecticut. Fein has been a partner at Wiggin and Dana since 1997. He was an associate White House counsel during President Clinton’s administration. Fein also served as Connecticut’s chief federal prosecutor. Fein graduated from Dartmouth College in 1982 and from New York University School of Law in 1985. He will replace acting U.S. attorney Nora Dannehy.
