In New Jersey some of the laws regarding punishing unfaithful wives have been repealed as these laws were out dated and even dated as far back to early 1900s. Some of the laws removed are married women’s property acts which gave women only limited legal and property rights and another law on immediate marriages for men arrested on charges of rape, fornication or having carnal knowledge of an unmarried female if they consent to marry the woman. These anti women laws recall how far women’s rights have come in the last century.
