“I think it’s definitely a miracle that I survived,” said a bungee jumper after her cord broke during a 111-meter nosedive into a river in Africa.
Erin Langworthy, from Australia, jumped head first from the Victoria Falls Bridge into the Zambezi River. The river is on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. The jump took place on New Year’s Eve. As Langworthy jumped, other tourists cheered her on, but when her cord broke in half, one tourist exclaimed, “She’s in the f***ing water!”
Langworthy said of the experience, “It went black straight away and I felt like I’d been slapped all over.”
The bungee jump occurred over crocodile-infested waters, which did not make matters any better, especially when her broken cord became tangled on debris around her.
“I actually had to swim down and yank the bungee cord out of whatever it was caught into,” she said.
Langworthy was able to swim to the Zimbabwe side of the Zambezi River where rescuers pulled her from the water. She had to spend a week in a hospital in South Africa because of a broken collar bone and bruising. None of her injuries are life threatening.

She probably signed a release so I would say no but the jump was probably free with a weeks stay in the hospital
That would never happen at an AJ Hackett jump.
OMG this is really worrying. But recently in one event organized by my friend, we had a great experience with the bungee, actually it was hired from buckingfun.com.au, a well-known company for bungee hire. The next time try this for any such events as they are really safe.
