Father Trying to Sell Son on Facebook

Here is an interesting question we would like to pose: if you are out of work and you are having trouble feeding your family, would you try to sell one of your children for millions of dollars?

Saud bin Nasser Al Shahry has allegedly been attempting to sell his son until the Saudi Arabian government ordered him to close his illegal business. Al Shahry was allegedly advertising that a $20 million payment could be used to purchase his son. All of this was posted on Facebook.

The reason Al Shahry turned to trafficking was that the government shut down his debt collection business. His requests for aid were denied by welfare officials because he is above the age of 35, which is the limit for receiving benefits.

So, to make some money, Al Shahry offered up one of his sons on the internet. He later stated that he did so because he is trying to avoid living in poverty. It is illegal to be involved in child trafficking in Saudi Arabia and the post on Facebook also violates the company’s content policy.
