Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft has had a small increase in its total revenue although its profits went down a bit in 2011. According to the AmLaw report, the law firm increased its revenue to $448.5 million. This means that the revenue per attorney for the firm now stands at $965,000.
The BigLaw firm earned almost two-fifths of its revenue through litigation, while its transactional practices saw a steady increase in the first six months of 2011. But in spite of the increase in revenue, profits per partner went down from $2.39 million to $2.375 million.
The firm saw growth in Asia through its Hong Kong office and its new office in Beijing. Although the firm has substantially increased its spending on training (by two-thirds) and recruiting, the firm has also suffered a loss of some of its high performing partners.
