People Magazine has given the “Most Beautiful” crown to first-time Oscar winner Lupita N’yong’o. Wednesday morning People Magazine announced who was awarded their prestigious honor. “It was exciting and just a major, major compliment,” Nyong’o said of being on the cover. “I was happy for all the girls who would see me on it and feel a little more seen.” Lupita, 31, has proved to the world that she is beautiful inside and out. She’s turned heads with her beautiful red carpet fashions, and her wonderful speech she made after receiving her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “12 Years a Slave.”
Lupita N’yong’o was born in Mexico and raised in Kenya. She told People Magazine that her early views of beauty were swayed by what she saw on television. “Light skin and long, flowing straight hair,” she said. “Subconsciously you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess.” Lupita mentions that her mother Dorothy “always said I was beautiful, and I finally believed her at some point.” People Magazine asked Lupita, What is the best beauty compliment the stunning starlet has ever received? “When I have been called beautiful with not one drop of makeup on,” she told the mag.
