Jodie Foster is married. The actress tied the knot with her girlfriend, Alexandra Hedison, this past weekend, according to CNN.
The new was first reported by E! Online, but confirmed to CNN by a Foster rep. The couple had dated for a year prior to getting married. Hedison is a photographer/actress and a former girlfriend of Ellen DeGeneres.
At the Golden Globes in 2013, Foster accepted her Cecil B. DeMille award by saying:
“I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago, back in the stone age,” Foster said. “If you had been a public figure from the time that you were a toddler, if you had to fight for a life that felt real and honest and normal against all odds, then maybe then you too might value privacy above all else.”
During the speech, Foster spoke of her gratitude to former partner Cydney Bernard. They have two sons together.
As is the case with Foster, she did not issue a comment on the wedding. She has been historically private about her life and continues that pattern with this marriage so far.
