Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend! I didn’t have too much exciting happening, I kind of took this as a get my “To Do” List done weekend. Despite the fact that I have a lot of free time, I’ve been avoiding doing a lot of little things, like buying a broom and dust pan or cleaning my goldfish’s tank, so I got all of those things done!
I also did a very “big” thing and bought health insurance! Woooohoooo…. Since I turn 26 on October 30th, I am officially off my parents plan. I spent a solid hour and a half Friday evening on the phone getting new health insurance… gotta love adulthood.
Other than that, I watched the Missouri game at a bar in Lincoln Park with my older brother, ran a bunch of errands, went to church on Sunday morning and did some meal prep for the week. And of course, following the Chiefs game…
I also borrowed my brother’s guitar! I had a random urge to play guitar and thought it would be a fun little thing to do while I have the time. Sadly he didn’t seem to trust me with his acoustic guitar, so he gave me an electric one without the amp to plug it into… baby steps I guess. Granted, I already have a blister from learning 2 chords in about 20 minutes…
Alright, now on to workouts! First, here’s a look at last week’s workouts:
Monday: 3 miles I got to the gym later than usual Monday morning and there were classes in the fitness room where I’d do the workout so I thought, oh I’ll do it at home!.. womp womp. That didn’t happen, so I pushed it to Tuesday and pushed each purely fit workout one day back to keep them in order.
Tuesday: Purely Inspire Workout 3
Wednesday: 3 miles + Purely Fit Workout #30 Butt Blaster (um scared…
Thursday: REST
Friday: Purely Inspire Workout 6 (15 minute HIIT workout) + 2 miles
Saturday: 1 mile + 20 minutes elliptical I was supposed to run 4 miles but my legs were just dead. I told myself push through one mile and if things haven’t improved you can stop. Well they didn’t, so I switched to the elliptical but then only did 20 minutes since I was trying to meet up with my brother and already running late!
Sunday: Purely Inspire Workout 7 (16 minute weight circuit workout) + 4 mile power walk* + abs
*I say power walk because this is a walk where I’m focused completely on walking and fitness. I actually walk several miles a day just running errands around Chicago but I do them at a more leisurely pace so I don’t include them here.
And now here’s what I have coming up this week:
Monday: 3 miles + Purely Inspire Workout 4
Tuesday: Purely Inspire Workout 2
Wednesday: 3 miles + Purely Fit Life #20
Thursday: 2 miles + Purely Inspire Workout #4
Friday: Purely Inspire Workout #5
Saturday: 6 miles
Sunday: REST (trade with any other day)
Do you like going on long walks?
Are you a procrastinator with your “to do” list?
ah the insurance! i dread that day, haha. i looove going for long walks. i find it so calming!
Haha hopefully you’ll have a job with benefits and not have to buy it on your own!
I can’t even imagine getting my own insurance… It seems to far away!
Yes- procrastinator over here! 😀
Haha don’t even think about it until you have to! Trust me!
Sounds like a great weekend! I love going on long walks! In fact, my husband and I went for a 2 hour walk at a local park yesterday. It was so nice to get outside and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
Oh how nice! Haha I’d probably like the walk even more with a walking buddy – I should enlist someone!
Yay for health insurance (not for how much it costs, though)! I’m still on my parents plan because Jordan’s is not-so-great since he works for a family-owned company. I’m kind of dreading the day I have to switch when I turn 26, but thankful that I have the option to stay on my parents!
I could have stayed on my dad’s as well, but it actually would have cost him more to pay for me on his plan than to buy me my own individual plan. Definitely do some research first!
Bahhh health insurance – I know I’ll have to figure all that out when I graduate and not particularly looking forward to it :-p And I wasn’t a big fan of long walks until I got a dog and actually had to go on them. Now i’m actually a big fan!
Haha my walks are considerably slower with Molly, she has to stop and smell everything!
I love going for walks in my favorite park. It gives me the space and time I need to think about things. Plus there’s such pretty scenery.
I agree, it’s the perfect time to work through your thoughts!
Insurance stuff is THE worst. being an adult can be SO boring & annoying!!
I love going on walks—-and have been doing that so I can get baby girl here. It’s gorgeous weather here too, so that is nice!
Haha good thing you have good weather for those walks! Gotta get her out!
Insurance takes all the fun out of being an adult but I guess it is nice to have!
Haha very important to have!
I LOVE a long walk as a workout. Sometimes it is just what my body and mind need. Sometimes these walks end at starbucks, which might not be the goal 😛
Haha I love when my long walks end somewhere great like Starbucks.
I forgot that we are birthday twins! And so weird – I spent over an hour on the phone with an insurance company last week!
Yay birthday twins, but booo insurance. It’s so obnoxious.
