I’m baaaaaaaaack! I had a GREAT time in Denver and I have to say, I was not happy to arrive back in my apartment! As much as I love living in Chicago, there’s nothing like spending 24/7 with your best friend.
We didn’t do anything too exciting in Denver, I’ve been there quite a few times and just went to hang out with her, not be a tourist. We did, however, have quite a few drinks and spent an obscene amount of time doing our hair… perfect girls weekend.
I arrived on Friday around noon and we had lunch, hit up Target, got some froyo and then went to the grocery store to buy ingredients to make dinner for our movie night. On Saturday it was off to the Denver Art Museum where I got to see an exhibit called Passport to Paris, featuring a lot of French artists throughout history, including some beautiful furniture pieces. They also included a gallery of impressionist art, which is one of my favorite styles, and I really, really enjoyed it! See? Got a little culture in…
That evening we went to a couple parties that she’d been invited to so I could meet a few of her Denver area friends.
Sunday morning we headed to brunch at Sam’s No 3 where we got prepped for game day. Chiefs vs. Broncos in Denver was a big deal and our day pretty much focused around the game… which was at 6:30pm. We got a few harassers at various bars once we donned our Chiefs jerseys, but it was a lot calmer than I expected. Sadly I can’t say too many great things about the game… Rematch in two weeks.
Don’t you love iPhone selfies where no one can figure out where to look?..
Monday morning it was off to the airport and back to Chicago. If only girls weekend could be forever… Anyone have a money tree I could borrow? Ha. Well, now on to workouts!
First, we’ll take a look at last week’s workouts. When I was doing my week’s workouts I completely forgot to take into account that I’d be in Denver for the weekend! So I definitely moved things around:

Wednesday: 4 miles + Purely Fit Workout #21 (16 min tabata workout) 6 miles!

And now, here’s what I have coming up for this week:

What was the last trip you took?
Where do your best friends live?
fun!! my best friend lives here and my other close friends live in new york and dc!
Those would be fun places to visit, I haven’t been to NY since I was 16!
Ahhh, you’re hair looks so gorgeous! Love that!
Oh thanks, Hannah!
The cruise I went on in July! It was incredible!
Did you know that the word selfie has made its way into the Oxford dictionary? lol
Glad you had a great tip!
Hahaha really?? I guess my “selfies” are a little more legitimate now!
Gotta love girls weekends! The last trip I took was HLS in September, but hopefully I’ll have some trips planned for the spring/summer!
That was a pretty good one!
My best friend lives in Ireland so not so close 🙁 Hoping to visit her in the next year though!
Let me know when you’re over in these parts!
oh gosh I wish I could visit Ireland! But yea, that’s pretty far away!
Your hair looks so pretty in those pictures!
Thanks, Emily!
I love your curly hair, but it’s so fun seeing it straight! Absolutely gorgeous! It looks like the perfect girls’ weekend… Froyo, booze… Yep, that’s about all a good girls’ weekend requires ;).
Thanks Carly! I used to straighten it all the time, it was fun to do it again. And yes, my perfect girls weekend.
Looks like a fun visit!! Welcome home!
The last trip we took (outside of traveling for a race one state over) was to Florida for a wedding in April. My best friends live in MA (I live in RI) so luckily they’re only about an hour drive away. We’re going up there for the weekend on Friday night and I’m psyched!
oh fun, enjoy your weekend with your friend!!!
What a fun weekend! Your hair/outfit were so cute!! Love it.
My bff lives in TX, sadly, but I have some good friends here. And my total best friends are my sisters–and they’re scattered all over!
Thanks, Annette! Ah and TX is far from Utah!
I love your hair straight! I can only imagine how long it takes to straighten it. Mine takes too long so I just never do it, haha.
Haha it takes a while but not toooo long. I might do it every once in a while but definitely not an every morning thing!
Even though my best friend lives super close, like 10 mins away, because we work opposing hours we can go weeks without seeing each other. Love no matter how long you go without seeing or even speaking the bond is still there! 🙂 Loving the straight hair for switch up!
Ah that’s too bad you have such opposite schedules!
we wish we lived closer to our best friends, we miss them so much!! so happy you enjoyed yourself in Denver with your friend 🙂
Thanks, ladies!
I love your hair straightened – so pretty! I love time with the bestie, it’s always a fun time!
Thanks, Chelsey!
