Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week. I’m still out here in Colorado Springs, although I head to Denver tomorrow to spend some more time with Maddie. Can’t wait to get up there! In true Thursday fashion, I have another round of Thursday Thoughts for you all!

1. Altitude is no joke. I headed to the treadmill yesterday to run (it was just too hot out) and I about DIED. The first few miles were fine (minus the serious stomach cramping) but that last 1.5 miles were HARD. I had to convince myself to make it each half mile in exchange for a 1 minute breather before continuing on. After stretching I did this for about 15 minutes:

2. Is it weird that I’m tired of being on vacation? I feel like I’ve been sitting around long enough. It’s time to get back at job searching and getting my apartment ready for moving!

3. Oh, did I mention I found an apartment? I did, the first weekend of August, but I just now have the lease signed so it’s all set. I’ll be moving a whopping 0.8 miles from where I am now, and still equally far away from Molly (and my brother…). I’ll officially be a Lakeview resident!

4. Tuesday night we were driving back from dinner at Crystal Park Cantina (an AMAZING Mexican restaurant that you must go to if you’re ever in Colorado Springs) and we noticed there was a full moon! I couldn’t get a good picture, but it was so pretty!

5. My mom has the prettiest flowers out her in Colorado Springs. They remind me of Alice In Wonderland; the part where she is tiny and all the flowers decide she’s a weed and kick her out. Random, I know.

6. I got my first ever facial (courtesy of my wonderful mother) yesterday. It was really nice, however, apparently I have great skin but horrible blackheads. Awesome…

7. Does anyone want to come over and clean my apartment for me? I have to clean it out before I move and let’s just say that cleaning is not my forte… This could get ugly.

8. I haven’t been on Pinterest much this summer, but I did find a few great quotes that I wanted to share!

  1. I LOVE cleaning. The other week I got home from class and spent 3.5 hours cleaning my entire house, or apartment, whatever it is. Hands and knees scrubbing baseboards, moving couches, the works! I always feel so satisfied when my house is clean, the same way I’m satisfied when my food is clean 🙂

  2. I hate cleaning but once I get started I can’t stop. The hard part is getting started.

I’ve gotten a facial before and loved it. I had the same problem. They said I have great skin but lots of blackheads.

The first thing I do after a run or workout is go home and foam roll, drink lots of water, and sit on the couch a bit to get some quick rest because after that I’ll be full of energy and won’t want to sit down.

  3. If you find someone to clean your apartment, can you send them my way? I’ve got nine days to go until I move…and yea…cleaning is somewhat emotionally painful for me (I just hate doing it). And I haven’t gotten a facial in years – something I should think about doing, actually!

  4. I’ve never had a facial and it doesn’t really appeal to me. Would you say it was relaxing? I just feel like I would rather get a massage than have someone mess with my skin.

And you’re not the only one who gets sick of vacation after awhile. I think my cruise was the only vacation I didn’t want to end.

    • It was surprisingly relaxing (minus the blackhead removal part), especially since she also massaged my shoulders, hands and feet!

  5. I’ve always wanted to get a facial! I have terrible skin but it’s cleared up dramatically since I’ve been in college. I’m afraid to try a facial because I’ve heard the first one can cause breakouts in acne prone skin.
A new apartment is so exciting! Chicago is on my list of cities to live in post-graduation. I may ask your advice on safe/affordable areas in the next year or two! Good luck 🙂
