Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week. I’m still out here in Colorado Springs, although I head to Denver tomorrow to spend some more time with Maddie. Can’t wait to get up there! In true Thursday fashion, I have another round of Thursday Thoughts for you all!
1. Altitude is no joke. I headed to the treadmill yesterday to run (it was just too hot out) and I about DIED. The first few miles were fine (minus the serious stomach cramping) but that last 1.5 miles were HARD. I had to convince myself to make it each half mile in exchange for a 1 minute breather before continuing on. After stretching I did this for about 15 minutes:
2. Is it weird that I’m tired of being on vacation? I feel like I’ve been sitting around long enough. It’s time to get back at job searching and getting my apartment ready for moving!
3. Oh, did I mention I found an apartment? I did, the first weekend of August, but I just now have the lease signed so it’s all set. I’ll be moving a whopping 0.8 miles from where I am now, and still equally far away from Molly (and my brother…). I’ll officially be a Lakeview resident!
4. Tuesday night we were driving back from dinner at Crystal Park Cantina (an AMAZING Mexican restaurant that you must go to if you’re ever in Colorado Springs) and we noticed there was a full moon! I couldn’t get a good picture, but it was so pretty!
5. My mom has the prettiest flowers out her in Colorado Springs. They remind me of Alice In Wonderland; the part where she is tiny and all the flowers decide she’s a weed and kick her out. Random, I know.
6. I got my first ever facial (courtesy of my wonderful mother) yesterday. It was really nice, however, apparently I have great skin but horrible blackheads. Awesome…
7. Does anyone want to come over and clean my apartment for me? I have to clean it out before I move and let’s just say that cleaning is not my forte… This could get ugly.
8. I haven’t been on Pinterest much this summer, but I did find a few great quotes that I wanted to share!

Have you ever gotten a facial?
Are you good at cleaning?
What do you do after a rough run/workout?
I have to shower immediately after I run. I try to stretch first, but usually it comes after. I hate the feeling of sitting in sweaty clothes–ick!
Haha I guess I don’t mind it! Although I’m sure my parents minded…
I LOVE cleaning. The other week I got home from class and spent 3.5 hours cleaning my entire house, or apartment, whatever it is. Hands and knees scrubbing baseboards, moving couches, the works! I always feel so satisfied when my house is clean, the same way I’m satisfied when my food is clean 🙂
okay craziness! I wish I had that drive to clean!
I like to clean, but I can’t do it a little bit at a time, I have to do it all in one day. Usually I spend an hour or two on Saturday cleaning the whole house, and then I only have to worry about dishes and little things for the rest of the week!
That’s a good idea! I feel like it takes me forever though… probably because I rarely do it! Haha
Your mom’s flowers are really pretty.
I like doing laundry, vacuming, and dusting, but not really anything else. Of course I have to do the other stuff too though.
I like laundry but other stuff… ick!
I hate cleaning but once I get started I can’t stop. The hard part is getting started.
I’ve gotten a facial before and loved it. I had the same problem. They said I have great skin but lots of blackheads.
The first thing I do after a run or workout is go home and foam roll, drink lots of water, and sit on the couch a bit to get some quick rest because after that I’ll be full of energy and won’t want to sit down.
I agree, the hard part is getting started!
Love your mom’s flowers! I know what you mean about getting a little tired of vacation. I’m alllmmoostt at that point haha!
Haha well enjoy your last bit of time!
omg i would totally come clean your apartment!!!!! i love cleaning 😀 hahaha congrats on the new apartment babe! so happy for you <3
Ahh I wish I loved cleaning too!
If you find someone to clean your apartment, can you send them my way? I’ve got nine days to go until I move…and yea…cleaning is somewhat emotionally painful for me (I just hate doing it). And I haven’t gotten a facial in years – something I should think about doing, actually!
Haha I will! Sadly I think we’ll be cleaning our own places…
I have lots of blackheads too if that makes you feel any better. 😉 Keep us posted on the job search! Praying for ya!
Haha thanks. And thanks for the prayers, I appreciate them!
Yay for finding an apt!!
I like to clean WHEN I am in the mood. It has to just ‘hit’ me & then I’ll go cray. Kinda fun when it does!
Those flowers are gorgeous <3
I hope I get in the mood soon!
I’ve never had a facial and it doesn’t really appeal to me. Would you say it was relaxing? I just feel like I would rather get a massage than have someone mess with my skin.
And you’re not the only one who gets sick of vacation after awhile. I think my cruise was the only vacation I didn’t want to end.
It was surprisingly relaxing (minus the blackhead removal part), especially since she also massaged my shoulders, hands and feet!
I usually sit on my lazy butt and eat after a workout 😉 Love to hate facials. They hurt like no other but they work!!!
Haha me too, I just got home after working out and went straight to eating breakfast! I guess I should shower soon…
I’ve always wanted to get a facial! I have terrible skin but it’s cleared up dramatically since I’ve been in college. I’m afraid to try a facial because I’ve heard the first one can cause breakouts in acne prone skin.
A new apartment is so exciting! Chicago is on my list of cities to live in post-graduation. I may ask your advice on safe/affordable areas in the next year or two! Good luck 🙂
My friend said that too, but it didn’t cause any acne for me. And definitely e-mail me about Chicago in the future!
think the last facial we got was almost a year ago — love them!
I love them now too!
The flowers in your moms garden are beautiful, I love all the different colors.
She loves it too! So pretty!
WELCOME TO LAKEVIEW!! So excited for your new apt!
Hahaha thanks!
