Last hiking post, I promise!
Still here in Colorado, although I’m heading up to Denver today to spend a couple days with my friend, Maddie!
On Tuesday, my dad I decided to give Raspberry Mountain another go… If you’re a long-time reader you might remember a certain horrible hiking experience I had a while back on the same mountain. Tennis shoes + snow and ice do not make for a fun hike. Spoiler alert: we never made it to the top.
This time, however, there was no snow and I was sporting my hiking boots, so things went a lot better. The whole hike (including time at the top) only took about 2 hours and 45 minutes and it was 6.4 miles round trip.
Although I was getting tired as we were climbing to the top, the view was beyond worth it. When you climb to the very top you’re standing on a few boulders and you have a 360 degree view around you. Breathtaking doesn’t even describe it.
Gorgeous, right?
Yesterday morning I headed out for a 4 mile hike around Garden of the Gods. I’ve been there many times before (and posted about it before…) so I’ll spare you all the photos. You can see more here, here and here. Here are a few I put up on Instagram:
I had a fun time hiking around and managed to not get lost this time! I also sent this lovely good morning photo to a couple friends:
Cute, right? I thought so.
So that’s all on Colorado Springs!
What’s one of the best views you’ve seen?
Where is your favorite vacation place?
What are you up to this weekend?!
Love that picture you sent to friends!
Best view I’ve seen is probably either Lake Louise or anywhere in Banff. The mountains are so gorgeous!
I hadn’t heard of either of those places so I had to look them up – pretty pictures!
Wow you are so lucky to live near such beautiful landscapes and be able to go hiking in them! Wish I lived somewhere like that. Stunning! Tam x
Oh I don’t live anywhere near CO, just visiting! I live in Chicago with lots of… fields. Haha.
So jealous!! I’m glad you’re having a blast and you need to get back to Chicago ASAP. The picture with your dad is so cute too!
Haha I felt like I needed to get back ASAP too, I’m glad to be here!
So pretty! I loved hiking Camelback Mountain in Arizona. We don’t have mountains here, obviously, so it was unlike anything I’d ever experienced before!
It’s such a different experience! Haha we need some mountains around here!
Isn’t it awesome how when you come to the end of a hike you come out of the trees and there’s an amazing view that you totally weren’t expecting? I love when that happens.
Oh it was so cool! Totally worth the whole thing!
Haha. Did you take that last picture yourself? Would have loved to see you craning your neck around your camera for that one! Lol.
Hahahaha I did! It took a couple tries and I probably looked ridiculous…
SO pretty! It looks gorgeous out there!! One of my favorite views was seeing the Continental Divide when I went to Denver earlier this year- just amazing!
Your daddio is so cute! You are both so cute! And totally look related 🙂
