Over the past couple of months I’ve been nominated for a few blogger awards by some of my lovely readers! I kind of stink at remembering this and posting the questions you’re supposed to answer when nominated, so I decided to do them all at once! I was nominated for the Beautiful Blogger Award by Krissy and the City, the Sunshine Award by Eating For Balance, and the Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Ready Set Feast.
Thanks ladies!
Two of the awards say to write seven things about yourself, so I’ll just do that once, and then the Sunshine award seems to have specific questions.
Here are seven random things about me:
1. I’ve only been to the Caribbean. It’s so upsetting, the only countries I’ve been to are the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. I seriously want to go to Europe. Like yesterday. Or 5 years ago.
2. I have raynauds syndrome. It’s a condition where my fingers and toes turn white and go completely numb. It happens anywhere from being outside in the cold for a little too long, to even holding a cold glass in the summer…
3. I love the Today Show. My favorite thing to do when I’m home is to watch the Today show. I drag myself out of bed by 7am no matter what to mosey downstairs and watch for a bit. While reading blogs, of course.
4. I say “that’s rude” way too much. I feel like Stephanie Tanner from Full House, except I say “that’s rude” rather than “how rude.” I even say it in my head, a lot. For example I just checked the weather and it’s 31 degrees out. The first thought in my head? That’s rude.
5. I can let my foot dangle over the side of the bed. Ever since I head this awful scary story as a kid from my friend’s little brother, I can’t let any part of my body hang over the bed. I won’t repeat the story… it’s too creepy.
6. I have a black thumb. Not literally. I can’t keep plants alive. As we speak I’m staring at my quickly dying succulent that I bought from Trader Joe’s in hopes that I could manage to not kill it… At least I’ve had my goldfish for over 2 years?
7. I’m really good at keeping secrets. Feel free to share your deepest and darkest secrets with me, I won’t tell! I’ll be tempted… haha but I won’t. I’m pretty good at this one, mostly because I think before I speak.
Here are the 10 questions and my answers from the Sunshine Award:
1. Who is your favorite philosopher? Really? I never even took a philosophy course… Lol can I say everyone whose writings are in the bible? Or Pinterest? Hahahahahaha. Yes, pinterest.
2. What is your favorite number? 12. I love the number 12 because it can be divided by 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, and it’s easy to multiply: 24, 36, 48, 60, etc…
3. What is your favorite animal? The Blue Whale!!! It’s my dream to see one, or even swim near one… haha. I also love elephants and would love to ride one (like actually sit on it, and not just in one of those big seats, I think I’ve done that).

4. What are your facebook and twitter? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Peace-Love-Oats/225819917472557 and @PeaceLoveOats
5. What is your favorite time of day? Morning! I am way more productive in the morning, and I love being up and having a ton of things done before other people are even awake!
6. What was your favorite vacation? Oh geez, that’s hard. I loved going skiing with my family in Utah when I was younger, but more recently would probably just be simple trips to Colorado Springs with my family!
7. What is your favorite physical activity? RUNNING!!!!
8. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink? Hahahaha I like that it had to be specified as non-alcoholic. This is hard… probably hot apple cider, but I rarely have that. I also love shirley temples… with cherries of course.
9. What is your favorite flower? Oooo this has always been difficult for me, but I think right now I’d have to say tulips!

10. What is your passion? Helping other people. That’s all I know so far – I am happiest when I’m giving other people advice and helping them get to where they want to be.
For all these awards I’m supposed to nominate people, but my favorite people are all my readers, so I nominate YOU!
Pick some questions and answer! OR what’s a random fact about you?
Congrats lady 🙂 They couldn’t have chosen a more lovely blogger to honor! And I loveeeeee reading posts like these…gives me a chance to get to know people better 😉 My favorite flowers are lilies. Absolutely love them 🙂
Lilies are so pretty! Good choice!
I hear you on getting out of the US! I’ve only ever been to Canada, so you beat me. That needs to change! It’s even more depressing when you’re friends with people who spend summers in Italy or an entire year in France, or China…I could go on and on. Haha. I go through phases with certain phrases- and I definitely went through a “rude” phase awhile back! I was saying it constantly.
Oh yes, my friends have traveled the world with their families, and my parents and grandparents have been all over! So sad.
I also have raynauds syndrome. I just bought new running mittens and googled “running gloves raynauds” so that I could find some specially recommendations. And I haven’t had any white hand attacks wearing them!! AND I LOVE THE TODAY SHOW!!! I pretty sure I have watched it almost every day of my life except for the 6 months I was in Europe and 6 weeks I was in South America. I WANT TO MEET ANN CURRY so badly. I am so sad she isn’t on the Today Show anymore. I will forever hold a grudge.
Oh I know, I’m sad the anchors keep changing! What gloves did you get?
Wow, congrats on keeping secrets, that’s a tough one! I can’t let anything dangle either! And sometimes, I still jump into the bed when it’s dark so my feet aren’t close to the edge — yep, I’m weird!
Haha I like for people to trust me!
I love getting to know people through questions like this! I completely agree on traveling to Europe. My husband and I love to travel, but we mostly just do it in the U.S. I’ve only been to Canada and Mexico, but I really want to see England and the rest of Europe.
Europe is #1 on my list! Although I do love traveling in the US, it’s my goal to go to all 50 states!
I say that’s rude to everything No wonder our conversations don’t go anywhere since all we are saying is that’s rude to each other over and over and over again…
It all makes sense now…
it is always so nice to hear things about you, I have only been out of the country once for my bike trip and once for a family vacation last year. I wish I traveled more
Ooo a bike trip, that would be fun!
love the random facts! i also have a semi-black thumb. i say semi because i don’t really even attempt to keep plants in my house because i know i’ll kill them. i always get a poinsettia at christmas because those are pretty hard to kill before the holiday is over.
Lol I got a poinsettia last year and killed it… Totally forgot I had to water it.
Wait, they make NONalcoholic drinks?
I know, right?!?!
I like watching The Today Show too! It’s always part of my morning routine. And don’t feel bad…the only other country I’ve been to is Canada!
I’ve been very close to Canada but never actually crossed the border!
I’ve never heard of raynauds syndrome! Interesting..
Haha man you know what’s really rude? Is that when I WOKE up it was 22 degrees outside, at least you’ve got 31 by you! Haha. That’s funny though.
Awesome survey 🙂
Haha I think anything under 40 is rude!
I am sooo much more productive in the morning too. I actually leave stuff to-do for the mornings because I’m basically useless after work.
I also can’t keep a plant alive, I don’t know how I can care for a cat but can’t remember to water plants.
oh I do too, I always look at my to do list at night and think, oh I’ll do it in the morning…
I haven’t been to many places either, other than the US, Cuba and Mexico. I am dying to go to France and Italy though and I’m determined to make it happen sometime in the nearish future!
Ah I want to go to France and Italy too! Actually anywhere in Europe would be good… haha.
Congrats!! You totes deserve both of these. I have a black thumb too, don’t worry. I don’t think I have ever successfully grown something. Once in first year, we had to do a research project involving growing beans. Out of 120 students, I was the only one who had less than half of theirs even germinate…
oh no! haha that’s too bad. I want to have a garden one day but I’m afraid that won’t work out…
As a math teacher I LOVE your answer to the favorite number question! My favorite number is 2 because it’s nice and even. I think of it as the perfect number 🙂
2 is a pretty good number as well!
The same thing happens to my fingers and toes, too! It doesn’t even have to be super cold for it to happen…like one time this summer, I was walking outside in sandals and it was somewhere in the 60s, but since that was colder than it had been it was enough for me to lose circulation to my toes. I just pretty much accept that during the winter I’ll won’t be able to feel my toes for the first 15-20 minutes I’m outside.
Haha yea, my feet and fingers go numb a lot in the winter…
Completely love your reasoning for loving the number 12. And I can’t let my foot hang over the edge of the bed either. I’m convinced something will grab me!
I think something will!!! Haha irrational fear but so many of us have it!
My younger sister also has Raynauds Syndrome! I’ve met very few people who have it … what a coincidence!
I’ve actually met a lot! I know probably 5 or 6 people!
That’s fun! It’s always a treat to get some blog love. Let’s see, random fact about me…I was born in Kuwait and was a refugee during the first gulf war. We happened to be on vacation in FL, ended up extending our vacation to 2 years. Not the worst situation
Oh my gosh! Wow! That’s quite a vacation, and I’m hoping it was lucky that you happened to be on vacation? Although expensive to stay here, I’m sure!
Hahaha, yah, quite a vacation. It was lucky, and we ended up renting a house until it was over and enrolling in pre-k. Florida isn’t the worst place to get stranded
congrats girl! and hahah i cant let my foot dangle off the side of the bed either i get scared!
I don’t know why it’s so scary! Haha
I love this! I had no idea you love the # 12! I love the number 24. It’s MY FAVORITE! 🙂
Haha 24 is pretty good too!
