Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a great weekend, I certainly am! Trying to get some work done though to prepare for finals, only two weeks of class left. Seriously, where did the last three years go?? Anyway, it’s Sunday so it’s time to re-cap last week’s workouts and see my plan for this upcoming week. This week was the beginning of phase 2 in Tina’s Boot Camp (there are 4 phases, each 2 weeks long). I really loved all the strength workouts in this phase, although they were hard!
Let’s take a look at last week:
Sunday – REST
Monday – Workout A + Cardio intervals
Tuesday – Cardio + Core workout
Wednesday – Workout B + 20 minutes steady state cardio
Thursday – Cardio + Core workout (Zumba only if my IT band is better)
Friday – Workout C + Cardio intervals
Saturday – ??? depends on IT band or REST
Sunday – REST easy cardio or yoga… haven’t decided
Shockingly I actually followed my workout plan this week! Haha, this is a rare thing, but it just worked really well with how I was feeling this week. I ran 1.5 miles on Tuesday outside and then headed to the gym for the rest of my cardio. Not the best thing for my IT band but after Monday I needed to run outside. Other than that, I took Saturday off because I had a busy schedule and wanted a relaxing morning.
Now, time for this week’s workout plan:
Sunday – REST
Monday – Workout A + Cardio intervals
Tuesday – Cardio + Core workout
Wednesday – Workout B + 20 minutes steady state cardio
Thursday – Cardio + Core workout
Friday – Workout C + Cardio intervals
Saturday – REST
Sunday – The Race that’s Good For Life 5K
Pretty much the same as last week, except for the Good For Life 5K on Sunday. This was originally my “goal race” to PR my 5K time, but I’ve barely run in the last couple of weeks because I was sick and then my IT band started acting up, so I don’t think that’s happening. All I want from this race is to be able to run it pain free!
Also, I have an outfit from this week for you all! I had another but I need to find a better way to get pictures because the lighting is just awful… you could barely see the navy dress since it was so dark! Looked like a blob. I’ll figure it out… maybe.
Dress – Target; Cardigan – Old Navy; Tights – ??; Boots – Forever 21
I’ve had those boots for years, they were only $36 at Forever 21 and I always get compliments on them. I had to have them re-soled but it was worth it! And yes, my hair is straight. I hadn’t straightened it in about a year and wanted to see how long my hair was. So glad I don’t do that every day anymore…
Do you spend a lot of time on your hair? (I wash it, brush it, put some curly stuff it in, and walk away…)
Anyone else have a race coming up?
ahhh I love the outfit so cute!:)
Thanks, Anne Marie!
if i want my hair straight then i do have to spend a lot of time with it… but many days i either throw it up or wear it wavy!
It definitely takes so long!
The outfit looks so cute! I cannot be bothered to spend a lot of time on my hair. I wash it, brush it, and on a good day, maybe throw a little bit of mousse and Moroccan oil on it. But usually I give up after I brush it 😉
Haha that’s about what I do!
I’m signing up for a 1/2 tonight! I need to have some summer runs to look forward to. I have straight hair so pretty much no effort goes into it. I don’t even own hair products besides shampoo & conditioner… also, I love your graphics, super cute!
Yay, good luck on half training! I love having a good goal race.
I wish I could spend less time on my hair . . . and in reality it only takes me 10 minutes, but there are definitely mornings I wish I could just add a little product, scrunch, and go. But no such luck. It would just look like a mess. I have to use a blow dryer and round brush. The boots are adorable–gotta love finds like that!
At least it’s only 10 min? But I can understand, haha sometimes just showering is annoying!
I love the outfit! I don’t spend much time on my hair, I normally shower and braid it at night and then just put some silk oil in it in the morning and let it do its thing for awhile before it ends up in a pony tail.
I’ve never tried braiding my hair at night, I wonder what that would do to my hair…
For me it keeps the natural waves but helps to keep the frizz away.
Do you use a foam roller! nice job sticking to your workout plan!
I pretty much have a shaved head, and no races coming up for me!
I most definitely use a foam roller! It’s practically attached to me! ha
I LOVE the boots!
I put very minimal effort into my hair. I only shampoo it once every few days, and I very rarely brush it unless (1) I have to look presentable or (2) it’s especially tangled.
Thanks, Beth!
You look so cute! I’m curious for your cardio intervals what are you doing when not running? Do you use the stairmaster or elliptical?
I’ve been using the elliptical, and for non-intervals I’ve been doing incline walking as well. I actually HATE the stairmaster with a passion. Lol I have no idea why, I just can’t stand it, so it’s elliptical for me!
Love that outfit!
Thank you, Alyssa!
I used to never spend time on my hair. It was naturally straight (I was lucky). Now, it is super frizzy at the ends and I have to straighten it or curl it every single day (which ultimately damages it more).
Ah that’s too bad, yea I damaged my hair by straightening it so much, but help to use products that protected it from the heat.
love it! great week friend. Wish i could come run and workout with you. And then you can dress me, k? i have no style
Sounds like a plan to me!
I used to straighten my hair everyday too! I have wildly curly hair but am slowly learning to embrace it 🙂
I love my curly hair!
Great workouts last week!
Love the outfit. I look forward to the day I can wear nice boots like that.
My hair ritual is simple, wash, comb, put on headband. Done! If we are going out somewhere nice, I might dry and straighten.
Have a great week!
Thanks, Angie, you have a great week too!
Cute outfit! My hair is super curly, thick, and long and I’m so fed up with looking like a poodle when I don’t spend time taming it with gel or straightening it that I’m about to cut it short! But then, everybody tells me not to cut it… so, that leaves me with a messy bun day after day!! Oh, the struggle, haha!
Might as well try cutting it, it can always grow back! I love having my hair long though, but it’s not crazy curly so it isn’t too difficult.
