It is incredibly rare that the public hears from an accused bully, but we finally are hearing from one bully. Mariah has been accused of bullying girls throughout her life. She has recorded her story on video for all of us to hear. We have embedded the video in this post and strongly suggest that you watch it.
Mariah, without making excuses, came to a realization about why she would bully other people. In her video, Mariah says that she would bully people because she was bullied herself. She said that she never had the strength to approach her bullies and ask why they would bully her. She said that the anger built up inside her to the point where she would bully other people.
Mariah explains a dream she had the night her victim, Jasmine, confronted her about the bullying. Here is the closing of her video:
“That night, I had a dream and in it, was all the people that I bullied in middle school. And it was sort of like I was a ghost. In the dream, I felt like I was in the shoes of everyone I ever bullied. When she asked me that question, it made me want to ask her what was going on in her life. For the first time, I realized what the person I was bullying was going through. It made me realize that everyone is going through something and today, Jasmine and I are the bestest friends.”
