The girl, known only as Rimsha, was spotted with some burnt papers in her hand, which allegedly had Urdu writing on them. The 800 Christian resident families of Mehrabad in Pakistan’s capital have long been eyed by real-estate gangs for the strategic location of their residences. The crowd went on a rampage setting torch to Christian homes and forcing Christian families to flee the neighborhood. The girl’s parents are in protective custody.
The Christians in Mehrabad had to flee their homes against mounting fury of the Muslim majority. The officer said, “The mob wanted to burn the girl to give her a lesson.” After all, the girl was a minor, and mentally retarded, and illiterate, so burning her is a vision that would strongly appeal to religious fundamentalists anywhere. They missed their chance, as the police arrested her.
“The Quran has been burnt” is a centuries-old common excuse for providing sham religious sanction to rioting, arson and other crimes directed at non-Muslims in Islamic states. Some readers would recall, that the same cry the “Quran has been burnt” was used a little time ago to kill 7 U.N. soldiers posted in Afghanistan.
The head of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Zora Yusuf said, “It has been exploited by individuals to settle personal scores, to grab land, to violate the rights of non-Muslims, to basically harass them.” Of course, from her position, Zora Yusuf cannot mention the regular rapes, loot, arson and forced conversions carried on in a country, where the doctor who helped CIA spot Osama bin Laden has been sent to 33 years in prison, but no one has yet been arrested for aiding Osama to stay undetected for 7 years in Abottabad.
In the instant case, the Down’s Syndrome-affected girl was illiterate, and no reason has been found why she would be burning the Quran of all things, and neither has it been proved that the burnt papers in her hand belonged to the Islamic holy book.
A police officer involved in the case said the accused girl told the officer that she had no idea there were pages of the Quran inside papers she had burnt for lighting a cooking fire. There is no proof and the police have also suggested that charges against her may be dropped for lack of evidence.
Paul Bhatti, Pakistan’s minister for National Harmony told the BBC, “some local people and a large crowd gathered to demand action against her. The police were initially reluctant to arrest her, but they came under a lot of pressure from a very large crowd, who were threatening to burn down Christian homes.”
Farhatullah Babar, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s president said, “Blasphemy by anyone cannot be condoned but no one will be allowed to misuse blasphemy law for settling personal scores.”

According to Holy Quran and haidth
when the treaty of peace was being indited an incident took place “Dictating to Hazrat Ali (r.a) the Holy Prophet (pbuh) said:”Write, In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Beneficent.” Sohail (non Muslim) at once raised objection, and said, “Do not write this . The Prophet complied with this demand. (1)If the punishment to remove quranic verses is penalty of death than why don’t holy prophet (pbuh) gave an order to hazrat ali to kill him (Sohail)? (2) If any Non Muslim will not touch the quran than how can he understand its meaning ? whats written in quran ?(3) If anybody wants to desecrates a copy of the Holy Quran he can buy easily from the market and do whatever he wants .but Allah says in Holy Quran ” Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” (15.9 ) .He sent the holy quran that we will seek righteousness from it nor we kill other people for it .He himself takes the responsibility of quran so we should not be worried about it we should be worried about our deeds which we are doing and on the judgement day we have to answer for it .
The Prophet next asked Ali to write: “This is a treaty of peace between Muhammad, the Messenger of God and the Quraysh…” Sohail again objected, and said: “If we had acknowledged you a messenger of God, why would we be fighting against you? Therefore, do not write the words, ‘the Messenger of God,’ and write only your own name and the name of your father.” The Prophet was agreeable to comply with this demand
While he was preaching in taif the rowdies pelted him with stones so heavily that he began to bleed profusely; the blood congealing in his shoes making it difficult for him to take out his feet for making ablution.While returning from Ta’if the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) also said; “Why Should I pray for the destruction of these people? I do hope that their posterity will certainly be among the believers in the one ALLAH.”
if the punishment of desecrates is penalty to death than why holy prophet (pbuh) pray for them ?
But if they turn away – then We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. (42.48)
If The Al Mighty ,The Most Gracious and ever Merciful ALLAH allows any punishment to the person first he punish the person who disrespect him it proves from the verses of Quran that when holy prophet gave the message of ALLAH the people turn away with arrogance ALLAH said you are just appointed to give my message why don’t he says to kill those person who turn away with arrogance ?ALLAH himself said that he is the one who will decide and judge people on the day of judgement .if we keep judging people in this world than we are taking his work in our hands.
