Female Cop Acquitted After Being on Trial For Taping Fellow Cops

Tiawanda Moore was arrested when she recorded a conversation between her and another officer at police headquarters. According to Illinois law, it is illegal to record someone who doesn’t give permission to do so. During the recorded conversation, Tiawanda complained to the officer about another officer who had apparently groped her. Tiawanda was acquitted of her charges because the court found an exception to the Illinois law when someone records an audio recording because he or she believes a crime is being committed.
