Former Ambassador, Associate Attorney General Joins Fulbright

fulbright & jaworskiBob McCallum Jr., a former associate attorney general and U.S. ambassador to Australia, has joined Fulbright & Jaworski as of counsel in the firm’s Washington D.C. office.

McCallum spent nearly three decades in private practice before joining the U.S. Department of Justice as assistant attorney general for the civil division in 2001. He was confirmed as associate attorney general—the third ranking official in the DOJ—by the Senate in 2003.

McCallum was then tapped by President George W. Bush to serve as U.S. ambassador to Australia in 2006.

Stephen C. Dillard, head of Fulbright’s global disputes practice, commented on the addition in a press release.

“Bob has experience clients seek in a number of key areas ranging from litigation and arbitration to corporate investigations and compliance programs,” Dillard said. “He will work with our energy and health care clients on investigations and compliance matters. We are very pleased to have him as part of our team.”
