Hey Everyone! I hope you’re all having a good weekend! Sadly my Spring Break is coming to an end and today I’m on my way back to Chicago. I just hope all this SNOW won’t affect my travels… I won’t even comment on the weather…
On Thursday afternoon I headed to the Garden of the Gods park to do some trail running. It’s a free park where you can go and hike on any of the trails. It was pretty busy on Thursday since the high was 60! There are a ton of places to park, or you can just drive around the roads to see a lot of the sites.
I had intended to just go for a walk but after seeing a couple other runners I started jogging and off I went! I got a little lost… but went places I’d never run before and ended up covering 4.5 miles.
It was SO. MUCH. FUN.
Seriously.
So if you’re ever near Colorado Springs, these photos from my run are my attempt to convince you that you have to visit this park:
Gorgeous, right?
That evening, my mom and I went to a restaurant called Marigold Café & Bakery, another high recommendation of mine. I’d never been, and it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but my dinner was delicious. I have not eaten anything that good in a long time. My mom and I both ordered the Red Snapper:
Now I’m no food critic and don’t have great descriptive words, but it was so flavorful. I could have just eaten the dish with all vegetables and no snapper the sauce was that good. If you’re ever in the area and looking for somewhere to dine, definitely check it out!
What’s one of your favorite parks to visit?
Have you ever been to Colorado Springs?
What was the last amazing meal you had?
Oh my gosh, it’s so pretty there! I’ve never been!
You should definitely make a trip out to Colorado, it’s so worth it!
I’ve never been to Colorado, but you’re making me really want to take a trip out there! Such amazing scenery.
It’s definitely worth the trip, the whole state is gorgeous!
More beautiful pictures!! Gah! Glad you’re having a great time. 🙂
Thanks, Michelle!
we have been to Colorado Springs a few years ago and loved it! can’t wait until we can head back out that way, so pretty!
I’m glad you’ve gotten to go, I love it!
Such a pretty park! I’m glad you had fun exploring! No snow yet in Chicago and it’s currently sunny out so maybe we’ll get lucky!
I hear we’re getting a little snow but not much!!
You have definitely convinced me! I want to visit CO so bad! Are you staying with family out there?
You have GOT to visit!!! My family has a house out there so we go pretty often!
I have always wanted to go to Colorado and these amazing pictures make me want to go even more.
You have to, the whole state is gorgeous!
wow- it looks gorgeous! I can’t wait to visit Colorado soon!!
You’ll love it! Can’t wait to hear about your trip!!!
I’ve never been to colorado but I want to so bad! I am going to Utah in May and I can’t wait! My favorite park? Sadly we don’t have much to compare to around here so I guess I would just have to say Harbison Park in Columbia, SC.
You will LOVE Utah! It’s absolutely gorgeous!
What gorgeous pictures!!
Thanks, Hannah!
WOW! Amazing pictures. I love running even more when there are views like that 😉
it definitely made the time fly!
All of the Nat’l parks are a must-see! One of my favorites from this summer’s road-trip would have to be Zion Nat’l Park in Utah. Can’t wait for Yosemite this spring! Last good meal was last night & the leftovers for lunch: Brussels sprouts, potato, & bacon pizza 🙂
I’m so jealous, I’d love to go to more parks!
Those views are gorgeous! The sky is so blue, I cant even imagine seeing it in person.
I love Garden of the Gods. I used to intern for USA Triathlon and my office was a half mile jog from there. I was so lucky that I was able to run the trails every day during my lunch break.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures. Made me really miss Colorado, but Chicago is so amazing too!
I miss CO a lot too! And I went during lunch time and saw a lot of people I assumed were on lunch break!
[…] times before (and posted about it before…) so I’ll spare you all the photos. You can see more here, here and here. Here are a few I put up on […]
