Both Cain and Joe were present at a CPAC event in Washington D.C., where Cain said he was pleased with the fact that Joe supported his 9-9-9 tax plan. Cain talked mostly about himself and the reason for him deciding not to run – wanting to stay out of “gutter politics” and family considerations.
Joe, who is planning to run for the 9th District in Ohio in the 2012 House of Representatives elections, has not given up plans on becoming rich.
“I am middle class, I do not have to protect the rich, I want to be rich one day. I’m as blue collar as they come,” Joe said.
Explaining his views on Cain’s plan he said:
“Is it going to be a flat tax? Is it going to be a fair tax? Is it going to be Herman Cain’s bold new 9-9-9 plan? I tell you what, all three of them are a great idea, let’s get the legislation up there, let’s get the change so we can get businesses back in this country and people back to work, that’s how we do it.”
It appears that Joe the Plumber realizes that the Income Tax system has been falling apart for many years.
Even CPA’s and tax preparers do not understand the Income Tax system, as evidenced by the different answers you get to the same questions about how to report various income transactions.
Look at the enormous amount of tax court cases where people pay money to argue with their government over what is deductible, what is not deductible, what can be carried forward, what can be carried back, what are the facts and circumstances surrounding the income and/or deductions, etc. etc.
If this 75,000 page Income Tax code was clear and understandable, there would be very little arguments over much of anything!
So instead of people spending their time making money, they end up spending time and money figuring out how to comply with the government’s bookkeeping requirements, which change every single year!
The current Income Tax system is a horrid mess and
hurts everyone.
I support Joe the Plumber in his quest to get elected to Congress and change the Income Tax code to either Flat Tax, Fair Tax or 9-9-9.
