Liz Trotta, a pundit for Fox News, has been making some interesting and offensive comments lately about rape occurring in the military. She made the comments while appearing on a Sunday show on the Fox News Network.
Trotta made the comments in response to an announcement from the military that it would be allowing women to work closer to the front lines of battle. Eric Shawn, the host of the show, was speaking with Trotta when the comments were issued. Trotta claimed that feminists want “to be warriors and victims at the same time.”
Trotta also decided to quote a report released by the Pentagon recently that said crimes of the sexual nature committed by army personnel have increased by 64 percent in the past six years. Trotta then went on to say the following:
“I think they have actually discovered there is a difference between men and women. And the sexual abuse report says that there has been, since 2006, a 64% increase in violent sexual assaults. Now, what did they expect? These people are in close contact, the whole airing of this issue has never been done by Congress, it’s strictly been a question of pressure from the feminists.”
Trotta added to her comments by claiming that feminists have asked for way too much money for the funding of programs for victims of sexual abuse and other sexual crimes. “You have this whole bureaucracy upon bureaucracy being built up with all kinds of levels of people to support women in the military who are now being raped too much,” Trotta said.
The host of the show then argued that the funded programs are important to protect victims of sexual abuse. Trotta then continued to put her foot in her mouth by saying that the military’s job is “to defend and protect us, not the people who were fighting the war.”
Back in 2008, Trotta decided to joke about assassinating President Barack Obama during his campaign tour that year.

I am a naval officer and a victim advocate, you do not pay me any more for me to volunteer for this job. It is a voluntary program (yes there are some civilian positions) but for the most part it is something you choose to do in addition to your primary duties. and at my command, victims are about 1/2 female and 1/2 male. It is not a crime only affecting females and the attitude that females deserve it sickens me. I cannot believe that this is coming from a woman. Allowing women into more positions may increase the number of reported assaults but that is just because females are more likely to come forward not necessarily because there are more occurring.
Did the United States slip into some sort of Rip Van Winkle sleep? Geesh, folks – Canada opened all military occupations to women (including combat roles) in 1989. Yes, that was 23 years ago!! The world is passing you by. Wake up, US. Stop debating foolishness and giving air time to crazy people and aim for progress … or watch yourselves decline further.
I just saw this on Jon Stewart and am so sickened by this woman. Put her on the front line – alone – and with no ammunition.
Obviously there isn’t a lack of ignorant people in the media!! Did she really say “raped too much” ??? military is here only to protect the people? Are military personnel not people now and not entitled to the same rights as the rest of the country? There is a special place in hell for this stupid, ignorant lady!
I am at a total loss of words here …. WOW! This is so sad, and sickens me as a victim, that a woman would talk that way in this day and age! Her best excuse right now would be Alzheimers or senile … hmmmmmmmm?

Had anyone on the Left made these comments, they would have been deemed un-American, and calls for prosecution over un-American activies would ensue.

What an absolute imbecile. I’m absolutely appalled that the producers of Fox News have done nothing in light of this incident. At best the program is ludicrous, but this crosses the line. What kind of a message does this send to the women of the United States? Especially given the epidemic of sexual assault on university campuses. If the women of the US military – who are fighting for our freedom – are not supported by the government and society, what can young women who are suffering expect? This is absolutely vile and I think this woman should be held accountable by the studio for her completely inappropriate, inciting, harmful words.
Just think of the mentality this twit must have. It sounds like something that you would hear on one of those talk shows amongst those who have never served in the military and don’t care to hear from those who have.
I think this woman needs to be expelled from our gender! What I expect from Military men is that they treat their fellow soldiers with the respect they themselves deserve. Male or Female! And I also expect this woman to lose her job. What a wacko
