Obama Nominates WilmerHale Partner For Federal Circuit

President Barack Obama nominated WilmerHale partner Edward C. DuMont to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Wednesday.

Dumont’s practice consists primarily of Supreme Court and appellate litigation and encompasses a diverse array of subjects, the White House said in a press release. He spent seven years as a Supreme Court advocate on behalf of the United States as an assistant to the Solicitor General and also served as an Associated Deputy Attorney General prior to joining WilmerHale.

“Ed DuMont has distinguished himself throughout his legal career in both the public and private sectors,” said President Obama. “He possesses a keen intellect and a commitment to fairness and integrity that will serve him well as a judge on the Federal Circuit.”

DuMont has argued 18 cases before the Supreme Court in his career and briefed many more, according to the White House.
