Well hey there! I didn’t expect to take quite that long of a vacation hiatus, but that’s what happens I guess! I was in Colorado from this past Friday morning to Tuesday night (well… Wednesday morning, really) so I’ve had a lot of catching up to do! Mostly on sleep… Anyway, time for this week’s Thursday Thoughts!
1. My weekend in Estes Park was probably one of the best weekends of my life. Not only was the place gorgeous, but the people we were with were so fun and welcoming that I felt like a part of the family. And my friend’s wedding was the perfect example of what I would want in my own marriage and I was beyond happy for them – So. Many. Tears. But I’ll have more on the wedding weekend in another post!
2. I will however, tell you about Denver! My AMAZING big brother picked us up from Estes Park Monday afternoon and brought us to his apartment where I got to see my sister in law and… MOLLY!!!!!!
3. Another amazing thing? Getting to see the Chihuly exhibit at the Botanic Gardens in Denver with my friend Maddie. I was blown away! Not only was the garden gorgeous but the glass art was a perfect fit and so impressive.
4. Sooo my temp job ends at the end of next week. And so far, despite my many attempts, no leads on jobs. Trying not to have a panic attack… Trying to have faith… Hopefully I wont have to change this blog to: The Law School Grad Who Works At XYZ Fast Food Chain.
5. If I give Molly a shout out, then I must mention Maddie’s three-legged cat, LaTarian Milton. He loves taking selfies and sending text messages… (and yes, he actually plays with Maddie’s phone and accidentally sends texts and emails).
6. Oh, one more note about Denver – the drinks there are SO MUCH CHEAPER. For one thing, they’re allowed to have happy hour drink specials (not in Chicago) and secondly, the drinks are less expensive in the first place! $3.99 for a margarita? Unheard of here.
7. I am SO READY for this weekend! Saturday is a bridal shower and bachelorette party for one of my friends and then Sunday is all about pulling my life back together! And resting… lots of napping. Haha.
8. Have a great Thursday!
What are you up to this weekend?
How much would a margarita be where you live? Haha
Who is your favorite artist?
Good luck with the job hunt! I know how frustrating they can be. On the bright side you’ve had a temp job, so that must have helped out with finances.
It definitely helped out over the past six months and will give me a little cushion to last about a month!
Chicago can’t have happy hour drink specials?! Say whattttt. I officially do not want to go drinking there! haha
I love Chihuly glass. The Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha has a huuugee like 30-40 foot exhibit of it. It’s breathtaking.
Haha it’s really obnoxious – so expensive to live here. And that sounds like a beautiful exhibit!
Sounds like such a fun & much needed trip/vacay!!
The job hunt sucks. It really does. But with mine–which seemed hopeless back in 2011, it ended up turning out perfectly right after I reached the end of my rope, took a leap of faith, and then something opened up. I really do believe another, better door will open for you!
LOVE that last quote. It’s so true! “be the same person in the dark as you are in the light.”
I’m definitely in a season of waiting for that door to open! It’s trying, but it’s forcing me to lean completely on God
So glad that you had such a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to hear about the wedding! And the cat plays with the phone?? How funny! And that exhibit looks amazing! I’m so sorry about the job hunt- but I bet God has something amazing in store for you!
I know He does, I just have to be patient! And yes, haha I guess her cat loves technology!
That photo you captured from the wedding is gorgeous!! Wow! I’m so glad you had such a nice trip!
Oh man, the job hunt thing can be super discouraging IF YOU LET IT. Stay hopeful girl. Continue to be proactive, put yourself out there, and don’t be afraid of taking a risk. Just remember, your next job doesn’t have to be your forever career, so if you don’t love it, you can move on to other things. I’ll continue to be praying that you find something where God will use you sooner rather than later, and that you’ll experience peace throughout the job searching. Hugs!
You are SO AMAZING, Ash! Your comments always make me feel so much better.
come to fargo nd! lots of drink specials..including margs. i’m sure you could find one under $5.. i def know of specials that have $2 pints of beer!
Haha I bet you have the best drink specials! I’ll have to come, it’s my goal to go to all 50 states and I have hid ND or even SD!
