Hey Hey! Happy Thursday to you all. Time for another day of Thursday Thoughts!
1. Sunday night I went over to my friend Sarah’s apartment to watch a video for our bible study. We decided to do it up on the roof and it was such a gorgeous night!
2. I am really back in the drawing mood and I did these two elephant photos. I’m going to do the second one in crayon as well. I’ve been dying to get to an art store to get a big pad of paper, charcoal and maybe some pastels.
3. Since I’m working really hard on saving money I decided to focus on packing meals and not eating out much. All week I’ve brought this salad for lunch (and snacks and breakfast). It’s so easy to throw together! Just sunflower seeds, hummus, cherry tomatoes and grated carrots!
4. It’s been so nice here in Chicago lately that I’m really getting back into my walks. The past few days during lunch I’ve tried to fit in three miles and I feel lucky to live in such a walkable city!
5. Last Friday I went to Sephora with a coworker and I realized they do mini makeovers for free. I decided to do one for fun and then another woman asked if she could curl my hair. Um, why not? She did this in 15 min with my hair frizzy curly to start with. I was impressed.
6. Another cool thing that happened at work last week? They were filing Parks & Rec outside my building! I don’t watch the show but I definitely recognized some of the actors. This is one thing I’ll miss about my building – always something interesting going on!
7. Speaking of missing my building… today is my last day at work. I’m unexpectedly sad about leaving the office and everyone in it.
8. Have a great Thursday!
What’s going on with you this week?
Do you like where you work?
Do you live in a walkable area?
Ohh I love how they curled your hair!
And you are so talented! I love the elephants!
Thanks, Erin!
Although I live in the suburbs of a large city, there’s a train stop in my neighborhood, so it’s easy to get to the more walkable parts of the city like downtown and the inner city. Having transit so close makes all the difference.
oh that’s so nice you have a train stop in your neighborhood! I love public transit, and I never thought I would having grown up in such a driving city
Love the elephant drawings! I wish that I worked in a more walk able city. It is manageable, but the cat calls are not fun!
Cat calls?!? Haha that doesn’t happen in Chicago!
Wow….I wish I could draw like that 😛
HAha thanks, Rebecca! And it just takes practice and a good eye!
You are so talented! I love your drawings!
I had no idea Sephora did free mini makeovers! Ummm, sign me up! And how cool she offered to curl your hair?! You look beautiful!
Oh man, I can imagine your feelings about it being your last day of work. Just think – on to bigger and better things! 😉
Yes, just go into a sephora and ask about them! And no pressure to buy anything!
I have been wanting to start using hummus for my salad dressing but I always have the most difficult time getting it mixed in and I hate eating plain lettuce :/ Any tricks for this? haha
I don’t use it for dressing, just as a topping to mix in. I use balsamic and a little olive oil for dressing!
you are so talented, love your drawing!!! we wish we could draw.
Thanks, ladies!
You’re sketches are so good! Unfortunately, I do not live in a walkable city – LA. It never seemed like a true city to me ever since I moved here because you have to drive everywhere! TGIF. Have a great weekend!
Hahaha LA is definitely not walkable. I grew up in Kansas City, very different from LA but also not walkable!
