Goooooood Morning! Time for another round of Thursday Thoughts!
1. I’m trying to be EXTRA POSITIVE this morning. My temp job was put on hold (we’re guessing the case is going to settlement) and I found out last night. So I’m trying not to mope around today and see this as an opportunity! Smiles! Haha can you tell I’m still convincing myself?
2. Back when I had a job… ha, I discovered this amazing place called Mac Kelly’s down on Madison near Clark (for you Chicagoans). It looks like a hole in the wall but they have a salad bar along with a lot of really great food options to order, including fresh made juices! I was super impressed! And this was only $5!
3. My current favorite song:
4. One of my “To Do” list items that I need to do today is take a bunch of clothes to consignment shops to see if I can make any money. I’ve been avoiding the task for ages because I know it will take some time to walk there, wait for them to go through it all, and then really, I’m kind of afraid of rejection. Haha, but I might as well go and see if I can get some $$$!
5. Speaking of clothes: the woes of living in an apartment building. I was up early on Saturday morning sorting out my laundry when I realized I had only a few quarters… womp womp. I then had to wait 3 hours until the closest bank opened (stores around here do not like to give out rolls of quarters…). #alwaysneedquarters
6. This week I am super proud of myself for all my meal planning! It makes a huge difference with saving money since I’m not running back to the store on a whim because I “feel like” this or that. I am a little worried about today though… hopefully I can still stick to it when I’m at home and not start emotional/boredom eat… gotta stay busy!
7. My friend, Sarah, moved into my building over the weekend and while she was moving I watched her dog, Bennett for the afternoon. He was quite a handful but he’s so cute I just can’t stay mad at him for long. He also discovered my fish, Neville, and was quite curious.
8. Have a great Thursday!
Do you ever buy fresh pressed juice? Where do you get it?
What’s your favorite song right now?
What’s your favorite type of dog (or cat!)? (obviously mine is golden retriever…)
I have never bought fresh pressed juice but I also don’t have anywhere to buy it 🙂 I think there are a couple of spots in downtown Columbus but they are out of the way for me. I am crossing my fingers that one will open up in our neighborhood at some point (we live in an eclectic, hippie neighborhood so I’m really surprised that we don’t already have someplace to buy juice!)
We only had two places that I knew of until this summer, and one near me opened up and now this place! I’m surprised it isn’t more popular!
The year I lived in rez my dad gave me rolls of quarters and loonies ($1 Canadian coins) for Christmas so I could do my laundry. It was one of my favorite presents.
Haha my dad used to send me rolls of quarters when I was in school!
Good luck with the job! I love your optimism – fake it until you make it and you’ll keep a smile on your face 🙂 I have been considering law school and I have really loved your blog because you’re so real about the struggles throughout school and after. I really appreciate the honest view into your track. I would love more posts about your thoughts on the process / outlook. I am praying for you and I am very confident it will all work out. Keep up that optimism!
That’s really sweet of you to say, Erin! If you ever have any questions about law school feel free to email me!
i wish we had a place around here to made fresh juices! i’d pay good money for that!
Haha and they certainly do make you pay good money!
I should have added – this place is so cheap! The one two blocks from my apartment is $10!
Ohh I love fresh juice! Omaha doesn’t have a lot of options though!
Hopefully they’ll start opening in the future!
Good luck with the clothes! I don’t have a favorite kind of dog, but I like big dogs better than smaller ones. I have always been a cat person so if I wanted a small animal I would choose a cat over a little dog.
I’m a big dog person too!
Ugh, I’m so sorry to hear about your temp job. Frustrating, I’m sure! But yes, I love your attitude. It most definitely opens the door for other things! Bigger and better things! Praying something comes along for you.
You should try ThredUp! It’s so nice you don’t have to haul everything and wait for them to sort through it. You just request a bag, mail it (for free), and that’s it! I’ve been kind of obsessed with it lately. 😉
I actually got my thred up bag in the mail and I’m going to send my stuff in soon! I saved a few nicer dresses to send to thred up rather than take to the consignment stores.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!! LAUNDRY IN THE APT!!!!!!!!! DO NOT miss it!
Love you girl! Wanna Skype soon? xo
yes, we need to catch up! SO much going on in your life! Big changes!
I’m sorry to hear about the job sitch but I believe something even better is on the horizon for you! I think you’re doing a great job staying positive though! How fun that your friend moved into your building and brought that adorable dog with her though?! And a $5 green juice? That’s such a steal! As for the selling clothes, I send mine in with Twice and they send you a prepaid bag and everything and it’s sooo easy! I totally recommend!
I know, so awesome that my friend is in my building! And Twice sounds cool!
I’m choosing happiness too!
SO fun that your friend is in the same bldg!!
Shut up and dance is my JAM right now 🙂 it’s perfect for any situation…a run, a train ride, studying, whatever! Such a feel good song
I love jason derulo’s Trumpets right now. No shame. It’s so catchy!
