Good morning everyone! The weekend is almost here again! Did this week fly by for anyone else? It certainly did for me. Good thing I have… a half-day MPRE (lawyer ethics exam) review to look forward to on Sunday… Anyway, let’s get on to today’s Thursday Thoughts!
1. I put all my Molly photos in one album on my phone and now I like to just flip through the entire album when I’m bored… It literally makes me laugh out loud thinking of Molly memories. Just ask my brother. He thinks I’m crazy. Can’t argue against that one…
2. Laura wrote a great post about accepting yourself for who you are, being true to your own dietary needs and loving your body the way it was made to be, all while using a great Lady Gaga song for inspiration.
3. I bought my ticket to Kansas City on Southwest almost a month ago and it cost over $400. Yesterday I was sitting in class next to a guy also from Kansas City who said he just booked his flight, also on Southwest, for about $200. REALLY!!?? So much for early bird gets the worm…
4. I love Julie on Peanut Butter Fingers and all her workouts that she makes. Sure, I could make this up myself, but I way prefer to just let her be the creative one and not have to think about it!
5. We had a fire drill at school yesterday… I hadn’t had a fire drill in ages! They are much more difficult to execute when your school is a 10 story building… Let’s just say I took the stairs back up to my class on the 5th floor rather than attempting to get on one of the 5 elevators…
6. I was walking over towards Greektown the other evening to meet up with my brother and sister-in-law and this vehicle crossed my path. I remember it came to my school when I was little and handed out whistles!
7. All this time I thought photos tagged of me on facebook were privatized so only I could see them, but I just discovered they aren’t and I can’t figure out how to get it back that way…. AH! Stupid timeline.
8. Why are the simplest ideas so difficult to actually execute?
9. To help execute this simple idea, check out Caitlin’s thought provoking post the elusive life-work balance, with some great questions we should all ask ourselves.
10. I got my e-mail for Tina’s BEST BODY BOOTCAMP YESTERDAY!!!!! So excited to get started on it next week, and thanks to Annette’s post, I’m sticking to the plan!
Anyone else doing Best Body Bootcamp?
Where do you get your workout inspiration?
Anyone else see the Oscar Meyer Weiner van growing up?
I saw the Oscar Meyer van when I was I’m elementary school! That’s so neat it was in the city. I love th quote of accepting yourself. It’s such a hard process for me but I know it will be rewarding when I finally get to that point :). Happy almost weekend 🙂
We had it come in elementary too!
I agree that this week seemed to fly by! I have never been blessed with seeing the Weiner van!
Ahh!! Your Molly album is TOO cute! I love my puppy, but wish she were a little more photogenic (cute in life, hates the camera — she’s a blinker!)
I’m with you on the “simplest concepts” seem the most difficult to bring to life. Really, they shouldn’t be all that difficult, we just let our lives get in the way of true happiness sometimes/most of the time. Priorities, I suppose, but it’s not easy!
Have a terrific Thursday!!
Haha Molly requires several photos and then I pick the one that looks best, she doesn’t like to look at the camera!
We had a fire drill at work yesterday, too! Thank goodness it was nice outside here or else I would have been mad, haha. It was around 2:30pm so it was a perfect little break from work! I probably spent about 10 minutes in the stairwell trying to get down from the 5th floor. Lets just say that if there was actually a fire, I’d be screwed.
Love the Molly album!
That’s what time our fire drill was!!!
Molly is so cute! How sweet you put all those photos into one, it is a good idea so you can look through them and smile! A little pick me up that can be 😉
I have heard Tina’s bootcamp is awesome, good luck with it!
I hope you have a great day!
The Molly album is a great pick me up, she always makes me smile! Thanks, Katie!
Ahh…Lady Gaga for the win. Thanks for sharing some great links. I often get strength training workouts from bloggers and it’s tough to gauge how hard it’s going to be until you get down to business.
Haha Lady Gaga knows her stuff!
Ahh I do the same thing with my dogg!!!! I have a full album of pictures of him that I look at when I feel like it. Everyone thinks its crazy but I just tell them we’re in love :* lol
It’s a great way to smile in the middle of the day!
No it’s more of it’s ONLY Thursday…
I would accept my body, but then that wouldn’t help me get skinnier.
Sometimes I seriously crack myself up. I’m so funny.
Go on southwest and see if your flight is now cheaper. If yoyo call they will usually let you rebook at a lower fee. If not, you can always cancel that flight and rebook with the lower rate. Sw has no cancelation fees!
Great idea, thanks Steph!
i just tweeted about the flights of tickets, me going home for thanksgiving is unreal, just unreal. i can’t decide what to do.
Have you looked into taking Amtrak to get home? I take Amtrak all the time, and their prices are dirt cheap. I did a little poking around their website and I think it would be a bit pricier for you than it is for me, but it might still be a lot less than a flight. It’ll take a little longer, yeah, but I’ve had a lot of fantastic experiences with Amtrak and highly recommend it if you’re looking for something a little cheaper.
Lol I got my parents to reimburse me for it, mostly because they want me home as much as I want to be there. Plus being a student helps.
I thought I was the only one with a puppy album on my Iphone! Haha this makes it socially acceptable now 🙂 Molly is just presh
Totally socially acceptable, everyone loves puppies!
If you flight goes down on Southwest they will usually credit you for the decrease! Keep checking on your particular flight’s cost and call them if you see it go down!!
I’ll check it out, thanks!
Gahhhhhh puppy Molly!! Too precious! I seriously wish I had a sibling with a dog that lived close enough to me so I could constantly shower said dog with love. I miss having a dog in my life 🙁
I’m so excited for Boot Camp! Not gonna lie though…I was definitely overwhelmed by last night’s e-mail. So much information! So many workouts! So much realizing that I am going to dieeeeeeee haha.
I just commented this to Alex, but if you’re looking to save money, Amtrak is seriously awesome. I looked up the cost for a ticket from Chicago to Kansas City, and it’s $115…which is definitely waaaaay more than I have to pay for my trips home, but is also definitely waaaaay less than $400. It looks like it’s about a 5 and a half hour trip, but in my experience I’ve found Amtrak to be amazingly reliable, especially when you’re leaving from Chicago. I’ve taken the train from Chicago to my hometown seven times that I can think of off the top of my head since January 2011, and never once has the train left even a minute later than it was scheduled to leave. Sometimes things get delayed en route, especially when freight trains get in the way, so your arrival time might not be what’s published, but they do a fantastic job of getting you where you need to go on time. They also have deals all. the. time. that makes travel a lot cheaper, and their rewards program makes it so easy to earn a free trip it’s ridiculous. I’ve also become a Union Station expert in that time, so I could give you the downlow on how to navigate Union Station and get a good seat on the train. I’ve got you covered 😉 Obviously that ship has sailed for Thanksgiving, but it’s something to keep in mind for future Kansas City trips!
I’ve taken Amtrak to Kansas City before, I actually have a horror story from the first time I did it… we had issues and got stuck an hour outside Chicago for 9 hours and then ended up back in Chicago. I had to book a flight for the next morning and almost missed my friend’s wedding! Haha I did take it another time successfully though, and it’s a 10 hour trip. I just prefer flying because I walk around more rather than sitting for 10 hours, it drives me crazy!
Oh, and I got last night email but didn’t even read it, WAY too much information to take in right before I went to bed.
LOVE that you have an album for Molly! CUTE!
I love SW for the most part…but sometimes their sales are way dumb.
YAY for a plan! You’ve got this 🙂
Haha I finally got a SW sale to work in my favor – Denver in January to visit my friend from High School! It was around $80 each way!
The Molly pictures are too cute 🙂
And my work has a yearly fire drill that involves walking down 21 flights of stairs. Sounds easy but in reality, it’s a real quad killer! I guess better safe than sorry but it’s so weird to “pretend” when you are an adult!
haha 21 is a lot of flights of stairs!
Lady Gaga is so insane, but she has some great things to say sometimes!
And that happy quote is wonderful. Sometimes when I don’t like how things are going, I stop and think to myself, “you can change whatever you want to change.” It’s empowering:)
Happy Thursday!
Agreed, although sometimes it’s scary to change things! But important to stop and really think about things like that!
I love Julie’s workouts! I just did one at the gym this morning. I’ve been getting my inspiration from blogs for workouts lately!
yayyy! so happy to hear this, kerry! 🙂 and now i’m apparently blog stalking you on other blogs… 🙂
Thanks for linking to me! So glad that you enjoyed the post 🙂
i had a fire drill in my apartment building and it was so weird i almost didn’t know what to do! good thing i get to practice at school all the time.
thanks for all the awesome links, i love finding new blogs with inspirational posts.
In your apartment building!?!? Haha that is a little random, I’m pretty sure we’d all just die in my building… Good thing my apartment is near a staircase.
I loved Laura’s post. Thanks for the link!
I’m glad you liked it, Natalie!
i’m so glad you don’t hate me and my addiction to picmonkey! 🙂 thanks so much for the shout out, katie!
also, i am officially in love with molly. she is so photogenic and has a little face that makes me want to give her the biggest hug!
Haha I am jealous of your picmonkey skills! I love using that site. And I’m pretty sure Molly would love to give you a hug too, she looooves attention!
Those links were great thanks for those. I never did see the Oscar Meyer van, but I get my workout motivation from great abs! Haahahaha! But really, I just love being active, so pictures of consistency is a great reminder that slow and steady is the way to go.
Your dog is adorable!
Slow and steady is the best thing, it’s good to remember that and that consistency is key!
Molly is adorable!
I had the same problem with my Facebook pictures! So annoying!
I am participating in Best Body Bootcamp! Looking forward to starting and finishing strong!
