Hey Everyone! I hope you’re all settling back into your “real lives” alright, or enjoying an extended vacation. I’m taking advantage of these next few days when a couple of my friends are still here in town. Gotta get in some quality time! With that being said, let’s get on to this week’s Thursday Thoughts!
1. My Vitamix headed back to Chicago with my brother and sister-in-law… Wish I’d kept it here. I’m dying to use it!
2. I went through the pictures my grandmother brought over and love some of them. It’s also enjoyable to see that my older brother was adorable and great at getting his picture taken. I, on the other hand, was not…
3. IT Band Update – Not improving. I took off exercising the whole time I was sick (5 days) and then ran again on Christmas and it started to bother me during the 4th mile. Today it bothers me just moving around… ugh.
4. It’s been considerably colder here in Kansas City than it has been in Chicago for the past week. Really??
5. Looking for something to motivate your New Years workout resolutions? How about some new workout gear?! Check out PV.Body for a seriously discounted workout outfit selected for you!
6. I went to see Les Miserables last night, and really enjoyed it. I’ve never seen the musical or even knew the story, so I was going in blind, but it was really well done and the music was beautiful. It was also 2 hours and 40 minutes, but honestly I didn’t even notice. It almost felt like I was only there for an hour. 5 stars from me!
7. I also went shopping with my friend yesterday and got these mugs from Anthropologie. They’re only $6 and $8 respectively and I’ve been wanting them for well over a year. So Cute!
8. Another find? I got these Kitsch hair ties. I had a few already, but I absolutely LOVE them! I highly, highly recommend them. Totally worth the price. Plus I can wear then on my wrist and it looks more like a bracelet than a hairband.
9. Now that all the Christmas activities are over, it’s time to do what I really wanted to do all break: READ! Haha I got SO MANY books for Christmas and I brought several home with me!
10. One final note to send you on your way this Thursday:
What are some great products you’ve gotten recently?
Any movie recommendations?
you got a vitamix?!?! so jealous!! that’s AWESOME!!! This Is 40 is hilarious!!
I’m glad to hear it’s funny, we considered going but weren’t sure if it would be any good!
Les Miserables <– I need to see it! That is all. Oh and it was SO COLD in Minneapolis compared to Chicago!!! Feels balmy in Chicago now that I am back.
Haha I would expect it to be colder in Minneapolis, but KC, not so much.
So sorry to hear about your IT Band! Hopefully it will improve for the New Year!
Thanks, Kerry!
Those hair ties are so cute! Do they actually work?
Yes, although I use them for daily life, I haven’t used them working out.
those hair ties were a huge thing in my college, a ton of girls had them. I have never used them but they look really awesome. I can’t wait to see that movie, I have it top on my list
Definitely see the movie when you can!
Love looking at old family pictures, they always make me laugh! My sister and I even broke out the old Christmas home movies. Good times 🙂
Ooo we should have done that, we have a few videos from way back!
Tell me more about those hair ties!!!
I want to see Les Miserables! I’m going to see The Hobbit tonight, but I’m kind of dreading it. I’m really just going so Jordan and I can hang out with some friends. I wish I was more of a movie person, but I’m not!
Haha I don’t know if I’d choose to go see the Hobbit on my own, but it’s worth it to hang out with friends!
Glad you’re having a nice time off with your fam!! You should maybe get an MRI for your IT band–it could be something more serious like a stress fracture like what I have. Please be careful!!! My ankle is also taking a really long time to heal. I tried doing some elliptical and incline walking with a few bursts of running and that definitely aggravates it. I just have to stick to swimming and abs and yoga/Pilates. I hope you’re on the mend soon!
I’m pretty sure it’s not a stress fracture, but thank you. I hope your ankle gets better soon!
I battled ITBS a little over a year ago and it is SO frustrating. I suggest lots of foam rolling, icing, stretching, etc. I ended up swimming as a workout for a few months because I could barely walk at some points. Those mugs are so adorable; I’m a huge Anthro fan 😀
Oh dear, I hope my IT band doesn’t get that bad! I’m headed to a new doctor on Monday!
i went and saw les mis yesterday too. omg – already going back to see it again next week. wasn’t it just AWESOME!?
Haha it was really good! The music was just beautiful and so was everything about the film, it really was a piece of art.
I want to see les misssssssss…boy will not go with me though so i have to beg someone else to go 🙁 i can’t wait for my pv body stuff to come! And what books did you get?? I’m always looking for new things to add to my must read list!
You could always go on your own! And I’ll be reviewing the books soon!
So cool that you got a vitamix!
I want to see Les Mis sooooo badddddd!! YAY for your vitamix. That seriously rocks.
Read any good books lately? I’ve not had much time, so I am excited to get into some next week 🙂
I just finished Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult and I LOVED it! Mostly because you learn a lot about wolves and I really loved that, and the story was great too, I couldn’t put the book down!
I got the Vitamix several months ago… let’s just say, you won’t be disappointed. That thing does wonders. I call mine my Vita baby 🙂 and he has a designated corner in my kitchen. Also, I wanted to see that movie but I, also, haven’t seen the play or read the book so I didn’t know if I would be able to appreciate it. Sounds like it was still good to you though!
Haha I’ve been trying to come up with a good name for mine. And I hope you like Les Mis!
Yay for a Vitamix!! I always hear awesome things about those! Lucky you! As for movies, I’d highly recommend going to see Django Unchained. AMAZING. Best movie I’ve seen in a long time!
I haven’t even heard of that one, I’ll have to check it out!
LOVE those mugs!!
Glad you enjoyed your holiday!
I saw Les Mis a couple weeks ago and really liked it too! I knew some of the songs, but not much else about it. Some amazing performances, right?!?
Those hair ties are really cool- my younger cousin got them for her birthday in November and I thought they were pretty neat. My hair is too short for a pony tail, but I agree they make a cute bracelet.
SUCH amazing performances! I’d go see it over and over!
