Hey everyone! I hope you are all having good weeks, and remember the weekend is almost here! I loved your comments on my What I (didn’t) Eat Wednesday post yesterday (yes, there are some grammar issues in that title). It was interesting to hear your perspectives! Today, however, is Thursday and you know what that means: THURSDAY THOUGHTS! I love Thursday Thoughts. Can you tell? Let’s get to it…
1. Is this not the best computer background ever? Trust me, it is.
2. Speaking of Molly, she is my brother’s TSA agent for packages. She must sniff every single bag/package/person that walks into their apartment. So far she has a perfect record.
3. Danica at It’s Progression wrote a great post about breaking up with the scale. If anything, scroll down and read the last paragraph in bold! Great words, well said.
4. I FINALLY found a good chiropractor here in Chicago, hopefully she’ll be able to work with my wonky hips and get this IT band issue under control!
5. Kelsey left me for the weekend. So rude. I don’t even want to talk about it.
6. Luckily I’m getting lunch and froyo with CHELSEY!!! I haven’t seen this girl since our wild and crazy sushi night, so I am more than excited to see her and her pregnant babies bump! Yes, babies, plural.
7. I was a little too excited that my outfit at the gym on Wednesday morning perfectly matched my weights. And no, I did not do this on purpose.
8. I have one final thing to leave you with today, PLEASE watch this video from Dove about how we see ourselves. It’s only a couple of minutes but it’s so interesting and thought provoking (BTW I wrote this post before a bunch of people blogged about this video yesterday… so I apologize for repetition)
Did you watch the video? What did you think?
What’s your computer background?
Would anyone like to borrow Molly to check your packages?
our computer background is a pic of me and my hubs from like 4 years ago from our engagement shoot. saps, we are!
Awww cute!
I was almost offended by you being upset that Kelsey was gone because um HELLOOOOOO we are hanging out. Froyo and Whole Foods – woohoo!
Hey now, I was so proud I remembered to include our date in my TT! AND a picture! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!
I love your matching outfit! I’m all about the “dress well, test/workout well” attitude 🙂 Again, Molly is adorable!
Love that attitude!
Have fun with Chelsey!
Thanks, Emily! You need to come up to Chicago sometime!
I think the dove campaigns are really interesting, we have talked about a lot of them in my pr class. I love your computer background 🙂 mine is a big picture of Bentley and one of his favorite toys.
Oooo that sounds like an interesting topic to talk about in class!
Hahaha awesome job on the matching outfit to weights, I get so psyched when stuff like that happens to me too:)
Haha I was just working out and looked up and wham! I realized how perfect it was!
Molly is welcome to come over anytime to check my packages. Sonic thinks everything is a toy. I don’t have a special computer background… it’s one of the options that comes with your laptop. #fail
lol you’re welcome to use a picture of Molly. And she would love to come over, although I’m sure Sonic wouldn’t be thrilled…
That video was fantastic, it almost made me cry for some reason. Thank you for sharing. I may repost the video on my blog as well (giving you credit of course) if thats okay, but I think as many people as can view this should!! THANK YOU!
Oh please re-post!
Just stumbled upon your blogfeed from Chicago Running Bloggers blog list! Glad to see the variety in your posts and enjoying yourself!
For your wonky hips, have you seen a sports Orth to get a couple Physical Therapy sessions? I had to once had a calf strain, and turns out I have weak hips. Work on your core and hips! (I like this set up: http://strengthrunning.com/2012/01/the-standard-core-routine-video-demonstration/ )
Thanks, I’m glad you like my blog! I’ve actually been to several PTs and although I’ve improved it with strength and stretching the issue always seems to come back so I’m seeing the chiro to fix the underlying problem. Thank you for the strength ideas!
Thanks so much for sharing my post, Katie! 🙂
and I absolutely love that video…it brought tears to my eyes the first time I watched it.
My pleasure, I thought it was great!
I need a new computer background . . . and have it feature Shazam!! 🙂
Awww yes!
I watched that video yesterday. I saw it on Thought Catalog- a writer linked to the video and wrote an article with her thoughts. It made me sad, because I know that I think in a similar manner…it’s hard. Women need to be kinder to themselves.
Molly is such a cutie! I have puppy fever so bad. I want one.
I think most women probably think similarly, but I love the idea behind the video that we should all try and see ourselves the way others see us.
Every time I see that pic of you with the moustache I crack up. Have a great Thursday, Katie!
HAHA ME TOO!
My computer background is of Zion Nat’l Park. Stunning!
Oh it sounds gorgeous!
I take pictures when my workout matches my weights, too. Alos not on purpose, but it’s always just a little more fun 🙂
It definitely made the workout a little more fun!
Cute comp background!!
Mine is a collage I made for Jared of pictures of us from the past year or so. Awwwww. Love that guy.
I LOVE that you matched your weights & took a pic of it. FANTASTIC! <3
Awwww I bet it’s a very cute background.
I saw the video a few days ago, and I think it’s great! I love Dove’s commitment to spreading the idea that all women are beautiful, not just skinny ones!
My computer program is a group of people (friends!) I volunteered with over Spring Break, in front of a mural we painted for the place at which we were volunteering. I rarely change my desktop background unless there’s a REALLY good reason to (like Christmas!), so it’ll be there for a while.
I’d love to borrow Molly for snuggles. 😀
Molly would love that!
Awwww I LOVE MOLLY :D!!!!!!!! Have fun with Chelsey my dear!
Thanks, Meg!
I love that your shirt matched your weights! Accidental coordination!
It was perfect!
Love Chelsey 🙂
and yes love that video from Dove! so inspiring and just amazing!! it really hit home for us!
Me too, it has a great message!
Shirt + weights = it’s always the little things, right?
Haha, Molly would be a great help, since Duke just barks at everything that comes in. Sniffing would be a better tool for screening you would think!
Life is all about the little things! Haha and maybe Duke prefers more aggressive tactics
Can I come over and play with Molly? I think I just fell even more in love with her. TSA-sniffing or not, she’s adorable!
How fun that you get to meet up with Chelsey! Lunch and froyo is the ultimate blend combination. 🙂
I’m off to watch the Dove video now..I heard a little buzz about it yesterday, but hadn’t had an opportunity to take a look! xoxo <3
