You’re welcome.
1. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Why did I take so many classes with finals my last semester of law school? I have friends with NO finals and I have four and paper. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
2. You have probably seen this elsewhere in the blogosphere, but Under Armor ihas a great campaign called What’s Beautiful. Their concept is to redefine the female athlete and want to help you set and achieve a personal goal. Anyone can sign up and join in! We’ve created teams to help encourage one another and although most teams are based on physical goals (such as PRing a 5K), you can also have emotional based goals as well. I’ve created a team based on my post last week about being yourself and loving yourself without caring what other people think of you.
Feel free to join my team here, and you can follow me by going to my profile, clicking on one of my challenge images and clicking “Follow Athlete”. I’ll be doing a bigger post on this challenge next week, but I wanted to get this out there to you all!
3. I love the song Thrift Shop, and we all know I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, so I definitely loved this image that Kelsey sent me:
4. I love Chicago in the summertime. Love. I’ve finally become one of those people that has lived here long enough to not remember how nice it is to live somewhere warm year round, so I think summertime in Chicago is the best thing ever.
5. Can someone call Barbri and tell them how rude it is to start Bar prep the day after graduation? It basically means the only time I get off is Graduation weekend, aka not a break. Not cool, Barbri, not cool.
6. The nice weather is luring me back outside, and the fact that I’m horribly out of shape. It’s really humbling to go from marathon ready to being whooped in the butt by 3 miles and I’m ready to really start training again. I just have to take it slow with my mileage increase.
And yes, I know this time is not bad by any means, but please remember I’m not comparing myself to anyone but myself, and I know I want to be faster. And that was a painful 27 minutes…
7. I was contacted about a race, the Move for the Kids 5K, which supports the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The money raised benefits many children and their families, who’s stories you can read here.
The race is taking place on May 19th at Solider Field at 8am. I won’t be attending since that’s graduation weekend and my family is in town (too many activities in one day) but if you’re interested, they’ve offered a $4 off registration code that is good until May 13th, so if you’re in the area be sure to sign up! The code is: readM4TK
8. I miss Molly. I haven’t seen her in a week…
Have a great Thursday!
You’ll get back into your regular running zone soon enough. Good luck with all of your finals, I feel your pain!
Thanks, Alyssa!
As a native Chicagoan, I feel you on the summers. SO GORGEOUS!
How long ago was your marathon? It seems some people jump right back it no it, and others need months to mentally recover. I did my first in January, and while I still run similar weekly millage as my training program, I haven’t done more that 10 miles as once. We will get there!
I ran the Chicago marathon this past fall, but I’ve been out because of an injury!
my brain matches YOUR BRAIN…like the ceiling caint hold us.
Hahahaha yes
i love thrift shop too and i’m stoked itz almost summer!!!!
AHHH ME TOO!
Love the Harry Potter picture. Harry Potter was basically my childhood, so I geek out whenever I see any kind of reference to it. Especially now that both the books and the movies are done! 🙁
Good luck with finals! You’re in the home stretch! 🙂
Haha me too, I started reading them when I was 11!
Good luck with your finals!

GOod luck on finals! You’ll do great, just remember you’re at the finish line! It’s just like the marathon, pace yourself and you will finish.
Thanks, Taylor!
Harry Potter + Macklemore = all levels of awesomeness
You’re so close to being done, just keep going and good luck!
Thanks, Taylor!
Yes–summer in Chicago is amazing! I can’t wait for summer break, when Bob and I have more time to head into the city more often. 🙂
Haha I always wondered why people came into the city during the summer, I always want to get out into nature!
I love summer in Chicago too. And you’ll definitely get back into the swing of things with running faster than you might think. Muscle memory is an amazing thing!
I hope so! Thanks, Heather!
Good luck on finals!! Ahhh Molly is such a cutie 🙂
Thanks, Katy!
Um you better miss me too you haven’t seen me in a week either!

Your Chicago pics are really pretty! The longer I live here in FL the more I appreciate it and love it. I feel pretty lucky! 🙂
I miss living down south! Enjoy it!
Chicago is on the top of my “Need to Visit ASAP” list! I’ve heard great things, but know that (being a Texas girl) I most definitely want to visit in the summer 😉
Haha you MUST visit in the summer!
That Macklemore picture cracks me up! I’m such a Harry Potter junkie. Maybe we should start a nerd club? ;).
oh I’d be all for an HP club!
Does this mean your IT band is feeling better? Yay!
I can’t wait until it finally starts to stay warm in Chitown. I’m so sick of the random cold days!
It’s improving but I’m not jinxing anything!
Oh my, goooood luck on the bar.
And I have a dog named Molly too…except she is a pug, not nearly as big. Love it!
Molly is a cute name for a pug too!

Good luck with running again! Those “bad” runs are always a pain (physically and mentally) but they’re just part of the game – keep taking it slow and I’m sure you’ll get some really great runs in soon!
Thanks,Danica!
Ahhh, finals. You’ll get through them!
