Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone! I hope all of you are having a great week! Mine’s a little… overwhelming. But no need to bore you all with that! Today it’s time for another round of Thursday Thoughts!

1. I bought Powerball tickets on Saturday hoping for some graduation luck… Sadly I didn’t win. I think I won $2 with one but I haven’t actually taken it in anywhere to find out. I actually don’t know where I take it… the place I bought it? #lottonewbie

2. Check out this balsamic vinegar/olive oil dispenser that I got with my starter salad at Smith & Wollensky! How cool is that?

3. My friend, Maddie, sent me the most thoughtful graduation gift. She got a bunch of random cute items (and a few nicer ones – LOVE the earrings, Moo!) and then tied quotes to them that associated with the items. It was really cute!

4. Can we add like 5 hours to each day? Who’s in charge of that?

5. Soooo we still haven’t actually gotten grades back. I actually had a dream the other night that I failed a class. They really need to get on this.

6. I have a feeling Starbucks Oatmeal is going to be making a consistent appearance in my life for the next two and a half months… But I do bring a baggie of protein powder, cinnamon and stevia to mix in! Helps with staying power.

7. I got post work/study drinks last night with Kelsey and Linds, it was so good to see them! I needed a distraction and a break from everything and it was perfect. Check out this delicious drink I got, with gin, simple syrup, soda and strawberries, so good!

8. Who’s excited for a three-day weekend?!?!?

Have you ever had Starbucks oatmeal, or the newer blueberry one?

Any other lottery ticket purchasers out there?

  1. Ooo!! I’ll sign that petition for 5 extra hours a day. It would all go to my bank of sleep time. Haha.

Do you have any big plans for your three day weekend? Mine involves driving three hours to get home, doing some lab tests, time with family, and then three hours back to work! Overall a productive time spent I guess… 😛

    • Haha I think I’d split it between sleep and studying. And no big plans for me – just book club and studying!!! Have a good time with your family!

  2. Oh man who do I e-mail about the extra 5 hours? That gift is SO cute and I actually didn’t know Starbucks had oatmeal, haha. That drink also looks really delicious.

I’m just so excited to have a 3 day weekend I haven’t yet thought about what I’ll do for it.

  3. Omg threebday weekend! After this week, I decided to make it a 4 day weekend and took tomorrow off 🙂

Love that gift with quotes… Such a sweet idea!

  4. I like the idea of bringing protein powder to toss in Starbucks oatmeal because whenever I eat it I’m hungry within an hour. I’ve tried bringing my own nut butter but it gets messy.

Happy hour was so much fun yesterday! Can’t wait to see you again on Saturday!

    • Yea, I thought this would be easier than nut butter, which would work if you had those little packets though. It tastes good too!

  5. Jason and I are so lotto-ignorant that the one time he tried to buy a ticket he didn’t realize they stop selling them before like 9PM or something. See, I don’t even remember! But, yeah, I think you can just go back to the place you bought it to redeem it.

  6. The three day weekend is going to be faaaantastic! And I’m sure precisely what you need!

I know that all of the studying is frustrating… it always helps me to go to lots of different coffee shops, bookstores, and libraries around town to get a little change of scenery! Plus, having people around in public places makes studying (the most antisocial activity ever) feel maybe a little bit more social 🙂

    Hang in there!

  7. During the last three-ish weeks of studying for the bar (when it realllllllly ramps up), I went to the S-bux by my house every single day and got oatmeal or a spinach/egg white wrap for breakfast and a protein bistro box for lunch and then I would get a sub delivered from jimmy johns for dinner. you’re just so so so busy that you don’t have time to grocery shop or spend any time at all preparing food. anyways, by the end of the summer, everyone at starbucks knew me really well, and every time i’d go back, they’d ask if i had passed or not. they were genuinely happy when i told them i passed after i found out. anyways, just my little scary bar story for you 🙂 the starbucks oatmeal brought me back haha! good luck, you’ll do great! just do everything barbri tells you to do!!!
